Architectural honeycomb in five cool colours, light-filtering or blackout
Kyoto is one of the three fabrics in Lutron's Architectural Honeycomb Collection: a 100% polyester single-cell honeycomb, PVC-free, 96 inches wide, in five colours (Stone, Fog, Ash, Slate, Pewter). The light-filtering version has a published R-value of 3.8; Kyoto Blackout, in the same five colours, reaches 4.4.
Honeycomb fabrics are cleaned by vacuuming only and are not seamed or railroaded; 96 inches is the maximum shade width.

Where Kyoto works here
A honeycomb is the shade we recommend when insulation is the point: a west-facing bedroom over a garage, a converted lanai, a home office that runs hot. Kyoto's cool greys suit contemporary interiors, and the blackout version in Slate or Pewter makes a bedroom both dark and cool. On Lutron Triathlon honeycomb shades it runs on batteries, which suits condos.
Kyoto: frequently asked
What does the R-value mean for a shade?
It is a measure of insulation; a higher number means less heat passing through. Kyoto light-filtering is published at R 3.8 and Kyoto Blackout at 4.4, where a single sheet of glass is well under 1.
How wide can a Lutron Kyoto shade be?
Lutron publishes a maximum usable fabric width of 96 inches for Kyoto. Wider openings are covered with two shades on one headrail, programmed to move together. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
Which Lutron shades use Kyoto?
Kyoto is made up on Lutron honeycomb shades. As a certified Lutron dealer in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach we order it for any Lutron system it is offered on and install it with our own team.
