Our Signature Craft

Drapery that moves like theatre

Motorized drapes are where our two crafts meet: a couture workroom that sews floor-to-ceiling draperies to the centimeter, and certified motorization expertise on Lutron and Somfy automated curtain tracks. Press one button - or say one word - and thirty feet of silk sheers glide open in silence to reveal the water. Call them motorized curtains, electric curtains or automated drapes - it is the same craft: a drapery motor, a track engineered for the fabric weight, and panels sewn to the millimeter.

Every system is engineered in-house in Fort Lauderdale: track curved or recessed to your architecture, motor matched to the true weight of the fabric, hem breaking exactly where it should. This is the work that made our name in South Florida.

Recessed & Curved Tracks

Track Craft

Why we bend tracks - and where the fabric goes

A drapery track doesn't have to be a straight bar over one window. We cold-bend track to follow the architecture itself - and that changes what a drape can do.

One Track, Around the Corner

Corner glass usually gets two treatments that meet awkwardly at the mullion. A bent track turns the corner in one continuous run - the drape travels around the bend with no gap, no post, no break in the wave. Wrap-around ocean views stay wrapped.

Bays, Curves & Angles

Bay windows, radius walls, angled sliders - the track is bent to the exact geometry, templated on site. Ripplefold rides a properly bent curve without hesitation, and the S-waves stay even straight through the bend.

Stacking: Deciding Where Fabric Lives

Every drape has to park somewhere when it opens - that parked fabric is the stack. On a straight track the stack eats into your glass. On a bent track we can carry the stack around the corner onto a solid wall, so when the drapes open, the window is 100% glass. The fabric simply leaves the view.

Split, One-Way & Off-Glass

Center-split for symmetry, one-way draw toward a wall, or an extended track that overshoots the window so the stack sits entirely off the glass - stack planning is decided per opening, around your furniture and your sightlines, before anything is sewn.

Motorized Through the Bend

This is the part most people don't expect: motorized tracks bend too. Lutron drapery systems and Somfy Glydea drive the carriers smoothly through curves and corners - thirty feet of sheers glides around a bend at one touch, silently. Curved does not mean manual.

Recessed + Bent

Combine a bent track with a Blindspace® recessed channel and the curved track disappears into the ceiling entirely - fabric emerging from a clean shadow line that follows the architecture. The couture finish for curved glass.

Corner glass, bay windows, curved walls - bring us the difficult opening. Track bending, stack planning, and motorization are decided together at the free consultation, measured against your actual architecture.

Why Motorize

Why South Florida homes motorize their drapes

Floor-to-ceiling glass means drapery too tall and too heavy to pull by hand - and Florida sun that will fade furniture by noon. Motorized drapes solve both: schedules that close panels during peak sun to protect interiors, scenes that open the whole living room for sunset, and silent morning wake-ups in the primary bedroom.

They also protect the drapery itself. No more tugging on couture fabric - the track does the work, evenly, every time. Integrated with Lutron, Somfy, Crestron, or Control4, your drapes join lighting and climate in one effortless system.

Good to Know

Motorized drapes - frequently asked

How do motorized drapes work?

A whisper-quiet motor drives a belt inside the track, gliding panels open by remote, keypad, app, schedule, or voice. Touch-and-go models also respond to a gentle hand pull.

Can my existing draperies be motorized?

Often, yes - panels in good condition can be rehung on a new motorized track. We confirm fabric weight and fullness at the consultation.

What does it cost?

A single motorized track typically starts around $1,500–$3,000 installed depending on width and brand, before drapery fabrication. Whole-home projects are quoted after a free consultation.

Lutron or Somfy track?

Both are excellent; the right one depends on your smart-home platform and budget. Read our Lutron vs. Somfy guide or ask us at the consultation.

Battery or wired?

Drapery tracks are usually wired for uninterrupted power on wide spans; where wiring isn't possible we design battery and plug-in solutions.
