Alendel Monza Fabric
2 colourways, sheer, 130 in wide, railroaded. Every swatch and every Alendel specification, from the workroom that sews it in Fort Lauderdale and installs it from Miami to Palm Beach.
2 colourways of sheer from Marble to Natural, 130 in wide and railroaded
Monza is one of the Alendel sheers we make up here, with 2 colourways on the card, in 65% polyester and 35% linen, at 130 in wide, railroaded. The card is Marble and Natural; Alendel files them under white and brown. All 2 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's One-Thirty Book.
The width is the reason to look at it: railroaded, the 130 in becomes the drop, so a wall of glass up to about 10 ft 10 in high runs seamless from end to end, which is how we sew sheers across an ocean wall. Alendel gives the repeat as vertical 1.5 in; we match it across every seam and every window in the room, which adds yardage and is part of the quote. The linen in it relaxes and tightens with the humidity, which is the look, and like every natural fibre it wants a lining that takes the UV rather than the face cloth. It weighs 1.34 lb per yard by Alendel's listing, and a cloth of that weight is hung on a track or rod sized for it. Care is WA (washable); Alendel's own line reads: washable cold, do not bleach, do not machine dyr, dry clean. Alendel lists no fire test for it, so it is a residential cloth unless a treated lining or a certificate is arranged for the project. Country of origin, as Alendel lists it: Turkey.
What Monza does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Monza is a sheer, so it goes where the point is daylight and the view: living rooms and dining rooms on the water, a wall of sliders, a bedroom by day with a blackout layer behind it for night. Railroaded at 130 in it runs seamless across a window wall on a ceiling track, ripplefold at 2.5 to 3 times fullness.
Light and privacy
A sheer filters hard sunlight into an even glow and keeps the view; it takes the glare off a white sofa without hiding the water. It gives no privacy at night with the lights on, so a bedroom takes a lined or blackout panel on a second track behind it, and it is not a blackout.
Cloth and care
65% polyester and 35% linen; 1.34 lb per yard; care WA (washable). Cotton and linen are lined here for the sun, and they move a little with the humidity, which is part of the look.
Limitations
No privacy at night with the lights on, and no blackout; it is layered where either is needed. Railroaded wide-width goods are not cut into Roman shades; for a matching Roman we pick a 54 inch cloth from the same book. The seamless drop tops out at about 10 ft 10 in; a taller wall is seamed or turned back up the roll. No fire listing from Alendel, so a commercial or condo common-area job needs a certificate arranged for the project or another cloth.

Where Monza works here
Nothing suits a wall of South Florida glass like a sheer, and Monza goes where our sheers go: Brickell and Miami Beach condos, Fort Lauderdale waterfront homes, Boca Raton and Palm Beach island. Railroaded at 130 in it runs seamless on a recessed Somfy or Lutron track across an ocean wall, the fullness trimmed so the stack clears the glass, over a solar roller for the glare by day. Every panel is cut and sewn by our five in-house seamstresses in Fort Lauderdale.

Monza: frequently asked
How many colours does Alendel Monza come in?
2 colourways by Alendel's listing, all 2 flagged in stock by Alendel. Every one is on this page with its swatch, colour code and FB item number, and we bring the shortlist to the consultation so the colour is judged in your own light.
Is Monza fire rated?
Alendel lists no fire test for it. That is normal for a residential decorative cloth; where a building or a project asks for NFPA 701 on the drapery we pick a listed cloth from the same book or arrange a certificate for the job.
Can Monza be made into a Roman shade?
We do not cut railroaded wide-width goods into Roman shades; the weave runs the wrong way for the folds. For a matching Roman we pick a 54 inch cloth from the same Alendel book, and the panels stay in Monza.
What does Monza cost made up as sheers?
It is quoted from the yardage: the width and height of the window, the fullness, the repeat if there is one, the lining and the track or rod. The pricing page has real numbers for sheers, motorized tracks and blackout draperies, and a quote for Monza follows from a measure. Ask for a price with the button above and we come back with a figure, not a range.
