Alendel lists Talbot as a sheer in 2 colourways, in 100% polyester, at 121 in wide, railroaded. The colours run Ash and Parchment, across the grey and beige families. All 2 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's Big Sheer Book 2.0.
At 121 in the cloth is turned sideways and the width becomes the height, so a window wall up to about 10 ft 1 in tall carries no seam at all; that is the wide-width advantage on floor-to-ceiling glass. Being polyester it holds a pleat, keeps its size through humidity and a wash or a dry clean, and takes the sun better than a natural fibre, which matters on unshaded glass here. Alendel lists the weight at 1.11 lb per yard, substantial for a sheer, so the track or rod is sized to carry it. Care is S (dry clean, or spot clean with a dry-cleaning solvent); Alendel's own line reads: dry clean only. Alendel lists no fire test for it, so it is a residential cloth unless a treated lining or a certificate is arranged for the project. Every colourway is listed as Oeko-Tex. What Talbot does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Talbot is a sheer, so it goes where the point is daylight and the view: living rooms and dining rooms on the water, a wall of sliders, a bedroom by day with a blackout layer behind it for night. Railroaded at 121 in it runs seamless across a window wall on a ceiling track, ripplefold at 2.5 to 3 times fullness.
Light and privacy
By day it softens the light and frames the view. After dark, with the room lit, the room is visible from outside: sheers are layered with a blackout or lined panel where privacy matters, or with a solar roller behind for glare by day.
Cloth and care
100% polyester; 1.11 lb per yard; care S (dry clean, or spot clean with a dry-cleaning solvent). Polyester keeps its size and its pleat in humid air and after cleaning, and holds its colour in the sun better than a natural fibre. Listed as Oeko-Tex.
Limitations
No privacy at night with the lights on, and no blackout; it is layered where either is needed. Railroaded wide-width goods are not cut into Roman shades; for a matching Roman we pick a 54 inch cloth from the same book. The seamless drop tops out at about 10 ft 1 in; a taller wall is seamed or turned back up the roll. No fire listing from Alendel, so a commercial or condo common-area job needs a certificate arranged for the project or another cloth.
