Wide-width sheer in 20 colourways, 120 in for seamless walls of glass
Aroma is a sheer from Alendel, listed in 20 colourways, in 100% polyester, at 120 in wide, railroaded. The colours run Angel, Azure, Ballerina, Bluebell, Coconut, Cumin, Doeskin, Dove and 12 more, across the white, blue, pink, brown, yellow and beige families. All 20 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's Luminosity Book.
At 120 in the cloth is turned sideways and the width becomes the height, so a window wall up to about 10 ft tall carries no seam at all; that is the wide-width advantage on floor-to-ceiling glass. Polyester holds its pleat and its size in humid air and after cleaning, and stands up to Florida sun better than cotton or linen does. Alendel lists the weight at 1.35 lb per yard, substantial for a sheer, so the track or rod is sized to carry it. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean). It passes NFPA 701, the flame test a condo association, hotel or office asks for on drapery; and FMVSS 302, the automotive interior test. Every colourway is listed as Oeko-Tex. It comes with a weighted hem in the selvedge, which is why the wide sheers hang plumb without a chain weight from us. Country of origin, as Alendel lists it: Turkey.
What Aroma does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Aroma is a sheer, so it goes where the point is daylight and the view: living rooms and dining rooms on the water, a wall of sliders, a bedroom by day with a blackout layer behind it for night. Railroaded at 120 in it runs seamless across a window wall on a ceiling track, ripplefold at 2.5 to 3 times fullness.
Light and privacy
By day it softens the light and frames the view. After dark, with the room lit, the room is visible from outside: sheers are layered with a blackout or lined panel where privacy matters, or with a solar roller behind for glare by day.
Cloth and care
100% polyester; 1.35 lb per yard; care WA-P (washable or dry clean). Polyester keeps its size and its pleat in humid air and after cleaning, and holds its colour in the sun better than a natural fibre. Listed as Oeko-Tex.
Limitations
No privacy at night with the lights on, and no blackout; it is layered where either is needed. Railroaded wide-width goods are not cut into Roman shades; for a matching Roman we pick a 54 inch cloth from the same book. The seamless drop tops out at about 10 ft; a taller wall is seamed or turned back up the roll.
