The colours run Blush, Carbon, Clay, Denim, Graphite, Loden, Maroon, Primer and 3 more, across the pink, black, grey, blue, green and red families. All 11 flagged in stock by Alendel. Alendel lists it under Piece Goods.
The 54 in width runs up the roll, so panels are made of joined widths with the seams hidden in the pleats, and a Roman shade under about 50 inches finished is cut from a single width. Alendel gives the repeat as vertical 3 in, horizontal 2.25 in; we match it across every seam and every window in the room, which adds yardage and is part of the quote. The linen in it relaxes and tightens with the humidity, which is the look, and like every natural fibre it wants a lining that takes the UV rather than the face cloth. It weighs 0.83 lb per yard by Alendel's listing, which is on the light side. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean). It carries CAL 117, NFPA 260 and UFAC Class 1, the upholstery flammability listings. What Nouveau does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Nouveau works both ways from the same bolt: pinch pleat, Euro pleat or ripplefold panels in the main rooms and flat, relaxed or hobbled Roman shades on the secondary windows, so the kitchen, study and baths read as one scheme with the living room.
Light and privacy
An opaque cloth, so privacy is complete when it is closed. The light is decided by the lining: light-filtering keeps a living room glowing, thermal or bump interlining adds body and quiet, blackout turns a bedroom dark. Nouveau is lined in every case; on west glass we line generously so the face does not fade.
Cloth and care
78% polyester, 14% cotton and 8% linen; 0.83 lb per yard; care WA-P (washable or dry clean). Cotton and linen are lined here for the sun, and they move a little with the humidity, which is part of the look. Listed as Oeko-Tex.
Limitations
At 54 in a wide panel is made of joined widths; the seams sit inside the pleats, and the repeat is matched at every seam, which costs yardage. Not for a wet bathroom or a shower window.
