Alendel Porto Fabric
4 colourways, sheer, 122 in wide, railroaded. Every swatch and every Alendel specification, from the workroom that sews it in Fort Lauderdale and installs it from Miami to Palm Beach.
A sheer at 122 in, railroaded to run seamless, in 4 colourways
Porto is a sheer from Alendel, listed in 4 colourways, in 58% viscose, 25% linen and 17% polyester, at 122 in wide, railroaded. The card is Lace, Taupe, Alabaster and Straw. All 4 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's Tuscany Book.
The width is the reason to look at it: railroaded, the 122 in becomes the drop, so a wall of glass up to about 10 ft 2 in high runs seamless from end to end, which is how we sew sheers across an ocean wall. Linen brings the slub and the matte hand, and it moves a little with the humidity, which is part of its character; it wants a lining that carries the UV load, and on a west window we line generously so the face does not fade. It weighs 0.96 lb per yard by Alendel's listing, and a cloth of that weight is hung on a track or rod sized for it. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean); Alendel's own line reads: washable, dry clean. It carries FMVSS 302, the automotive interior test. Every colourway is listed as Oeko-Tex.
What Porto does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Sheers are our most requested drapery and Porto is used as one: floor to ceiling on a ceiling-mounted track, ripplefold or pinch pleat, set at 2.5 to 3 times fullness so the wave is even from end to end. The wide width means a whole wall in one piece.
Light and privacy
By day it softens the light and frames the view. After dark, with the room lit, the room is visible from outside: sheers are layered with a blackout or lined panel where privacy matters, or with a solar roller behind for glare by day.
Cloth and care
58% viscose, 25% linen and 17% polyester; 0.96 lb per yard; care WA-P (washable or dry clean). Cotton and linen are lined here for the sun, and they move a little with the humidity, which is part of the look. Listed as Oeko-Tex.
Limitations
No privacy at night with the lights on, and no blackout; it is layered where either is needed. Railroaded wide-width goods are not cut into Roman shades; for a matching Roman we pick a 54 inch cloth from the same book. The seamless drop tops out at about 10 ft 2 in; a taller wall is seamed or turned back up the roll.

Width, content, repeat, care code, fire listings and weight per yard are Alendel's own listing for each colourway, captured from its trade catalogue; the stock flag is Alendel's public availability filter on the day we read it and is confirmed against the order before anything is cut. We bring the Alendel books to the consultation.
Where Porto works here
Nothing suits a wall of South Florida glass like a sheer, and Porto goes where our sheers go: Brickell and Miami Beach condos, Fort Lauderdale waterfront homes, Boca Raton and Palm Beach island. Railroaded at 122 in it runs seamless on a recessed Somfy or Lutron track across an ocean wall, the fullness trimmed so the stack clears the glass, over a solar roller for the glare by day. Every panel is cut and sewn by our five in-house seamstresses in Fort Lauderdale.
For the same use, compare Porto with Brent (sheer, 116 in railroaded, 19 colourways), Avery (sheer, 118 in railroaded, 5 colourways) and Arezzo (sheer, 121 in railroaded, 4 colourways); the table on each page lists the width, content, care code, fire listings and weight side by side.
Porto: frequently asked
How many colours does Alendel Porto come in?
4 colourways by Alendel's listing, all 4 flagged in stock by Alendel. Every one is on this page with its swatch, colour code and FB item number, and we bring the shortlist to the consultation so the colour is judged in your own light.
Is Porto washable?
Alendel gives it care code WA-P (washable or dry clean), so yes: it can be washed, and dry cleaned as well where the code allows it. Alendel's instruction reads: washable, dry clean. The code is in the specification table below for every colourway.
Does Porto give privacy at night?
No sheer does once the lights are on inside. By day it filters the light and keeps the view; at night we layer a lined or blackout panel on a second track behind it, or pair it with a solar or blackout roller.
What does Porto cost made up as sheers?
It is quoted from the yardage: the width and height of the window, the fullness, the repeat if there is one, the lining and the track or rod. The pricing page has real numbers for sheers, motorized tracks and blackout draperies, and a quote for Porto follows from a measure. Ask for a price with the button above and we come back with a figure, not a range.
