Alendel Rancho Fabric
2 colourways, print, 56 in wide. Every swatch and every Alendel specification, from the workroom that sews it in Fort Lauderdale and installs it from Miami to Palm Beach.
A print on 55% linen and 45% viscose with a 27.325 by 26.25 in repeat, in 2 colourways
Rancho is a print from Alendel, listed in 2 colourways, in 55% linen and 45% viscose, at 56 in wide. The card is Ranch and Vintage; Alendel files them under brown and pink. 1 of the 2 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's C.I. Napa Valley Book and C.I. Laguna Beach Book.
At 56 in it is cut up the roll like a conventional drapery cloth: a panel joins widths at the seam, which sits inside a pleat, and a Roman shade takes one width up to roughly 50 inches finished before it needs a joined width. Alendel gives the repeat as vertical 27.325 in, horizontal 26.25 in; we match it across every seam and every window in the room, which adds yardage and is part of the quote. Linen brings the slub and the matte hand, and it moves a little with the humidity, which is part of its character; it wants a lining that carries the UV load, and on a west window we line generously so the face does not fade. It weighs 0.87 lb per yard by Alendel's listing, which is on the light side. Care is S (dry clean, or spot clean with a dry-cleaning solvent); Alendel's own line reads: spot clean with water-free dry-cleaning solvent. It carries CAL 117, NFPA 260 and UFAC Class 1, the upholstery flammability listings.
What Rancho does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
We make Rancho up as draperies and as Roman shades, and the two are ordered from one bolt so the repeat and the dye lot match from room to room. A print shows best on a flat-fold Roman, where the folds do not break the design.
Light and privacy
An opaque cloth, so privacy is complete when it is closed. The light is decided by the lining: light-filtering keeps a living room glowing, thermal or bump interlining adds body and quiet, blackout turns a bedroom dark. Rancho is lined in every case; on west glass we line generously so the face does not fade.
Cloth and care
55% linen and 45% viscose; 0.87 lb per yard; care S (dry clean, or spot clean with a dry-cleaning solvent); 12,000 rubs abrasion. Cotton and linen are lined here for the sun, and they move a little with the humidity, which is part of the look.
Limitations
At 56 in a wide panel is made of joined widths; the seams sit inside the pleats, and the repeat is matched at every seam, which costs yardage. Not for a wet bathroom or a shower window. 1 of the 2 colour is not flagged in stock, so that colour is a mill order with a longer lead time; we confirm stock before anything is cut.

Width, content, repeat, care code, fire listings and weight per yard are Alendel's own listing for each colourway, captured from its trade catalogue; the stock flag is Alendel's public availability filter on the day we read it and is confirmed against the order before anything is cut. We bring the Alendel books to the consultation.
Where Rancho works here
On a Coral Gables or Boca Raton house Rancho runs as pinch pleat or Euro pleat panels on decorative rods in the main rooms and as flat-fold Roman shades over the kitchen sink and in the powder room, matched bolt for bolt. Every panel and shade comes out of the same Fort Lauderdale workroom, and our own team installs from Miami to Palm Beach.
For the same use, compare Rancho with Monticello (print, 53 in, 3 colourways), Paloma (print, 55 in, 3 colourways) and Midway (print, 52 in, 2 colourways); the table on each page lists the width, content, care code, fire listings and weight side by side.
Rancho: frequently asked
How many colours does Alendel Rancho come in?
2 colourways by Alendel's listing, 1 of the 2 flagged in stock by Alendel. Every one is on this page with its swatch, colour code and FB item number, and we bring the shortlist to the consultation so the colour is judged in your own light.
Is Rancho in stock?
1 of the 2 flagged in stock by alendel. The flag is Alendel's public stock filter on the day we read it; colours not flagged are ordered from the mill and take longer. We confirm stock and dye lot with Alendel before anything is cut.
Is Rancho washable?
Alendel gives it care code S (dry clean, or spot clean with a dry-cleaning solvent), so it is not a washing-machine cloth. Alendel's instruction reads: spot clean with water-free dry-cleaning solvent. The code is in the specification table below for every colourway.
What does Rancho cost made up as Roman shades and draperies?
It is quoted from the yardage: the width and height of the window, the fullness, the repeat if there is one, the lining and the track or rod. The pricing page has real numbers for sheers, motorized tracks and blackout draperies, and a quote for Rancho follows from a measure. Ask for a price with the button above and we come back with a figure, not a range.
