At 122 in the cloth is turned sideways and the width becomes the height, so a window wall up to about 10 ft 2 in tall carries no seam at all; that is the wide-width advantage on floor-to-ceiling glass. The repeat is vertical 24 in, horizontal 17.2 in, matched across seams and from window to window, so the yardage is figured on the repeat rather than the finished size. Polyester holds its pleat and its size in humid air and after cleaning, and stands up to Florida sun better than cotton or linen does. Alendel lists the weight at 1.83 lb per yard, heavy for a drapery cloth, so the track or rod is sized to carry it. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean). It passes NFPA 701 and CAN/ULC S109, the drapery flame tests asked for on commercial and condo common-area work in the US and Canada; it also carries CAL 117, an upholstery flammability listing; and FMVSS 302, the automotive interior test. What Draco does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Draco is a drapery cloth at 122 in, railroaded, so it is for panels rather than Roman shades: ripplefold or pinch pleat on a track, floor to ceiling across a wall of glass with no seam.
Light and privacy
Closed, Draco gives full privacy. What the room looks like closed comes from the lining we sew in: light-filtering for living areas, interlining for body and acoustics, blackout for bedrooms. The lining also carries the UV load off the face cloth.
Cloth and care
79% recycled polyester and 21% polyester; 1.83 lb per yard; care WA-P (washable or dry clean); 15,000 rubs abrasion. Polyester keeps its size and its pleat in humid air and after cleaning, and holds its colour in the sun better than a natural fibre. Listed as Oeko-Tex.
Limitations
Railroaded wide-width goods are not cut into Roman shades; for a matching Roman we pick a 54 inch cloth from the same book. The weight needs a track or rod sized for it; a light decorative rod will bow.
