The colours run Apple, Latte, Mineshaft and Spa, across the green, beige, grey and blue families. All 4 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's Constellation Book.
At 122 in the cloth is turned sideways and the width becomes the height, so a window wall up to about 10 ft 2 in tall carries no seam at all; that is the wide-width advantage on floor-to-ceiling glass. Alendel gives the repeat as vertical 24 in, horizontal 24.5 in; we match it across every seam and every window in the room, which adds yardage and is part of the quote. Polyester holds its pleat and its size in humid air and after cleaning, and stands up to Florida sun better than cotton or linen does. Alendel lists the weight at 1.73 lb per yard, heavy for a drapery cloth, so the track or rod is sized to carry it. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean). It passes NFPA 701 and CAN/ULC S109, the drapery flame tests asked for on commercial and condo common-area work in the US and Canada; it also carries CAL 117, an upholstery flammability listing; and FMVSS 302, the automotive interior test. What Hydra does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Hydra is a drapery cloth at 122 in, railroaded, so it is for panels rather than Roman shades: ripplefold or pinch pleat on a track, floor to ceiling across a wall of glass with no seam.
Light and privacy
An opaque cloth, so privacy is complete when it is closed. The light is decided by the lining: light-filtering keeps a living room glowing, thermal or bump interlining adds body and quiet, blackout turns a bedroom dark. Hydra is lined in every case; on west glass we line generously so the face does not fade.
Cloth and care
70% recycled polyester and 30% polyester; 1.73 lb per yard; care WA-P (washable or dry clean); 88,800 rubs abrasion. Polyester keeps its size and its pleat in humid air and after cleaning, and holds its colour in the sun better than a natural fibre. Listed as Oeko-Tex.
Limitations
Railroaded wide-width goods are not cut into Roman shades; for a matching Roman we pick a 54 inch cloth from the same book. The weight needs a track or rod sized for it; a light decorative rod will bow.
