A sheer in 48% recycled polyester, 29% linen and 23% organic cotton at 120 in, railroaded, in 4 colourways

Pressure is one of the Alendel sheers we make up here, with 4 colourways on the card, in 48% recycled polyester, 29% linen and 23% organic cotton, at 120 in wide, railroaded. The card is Angel, Cream, Fog and Sand; Alendel files them under white, beige and grey. All 4 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's Ecosystem Book.

The width is the reason to look at it: railroaded, the 120 in becomes the drop, so a wall of glass up to about 10 ft high runs seamless from end to end, which is how we sew sheers across an ocean wall. The linen in it relaxes and tightens with the humidity, which is the look, and like every natural fibre it wants a lining that takes the UV rather than the face cloth. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean). Alendel lists no fire test for it, so it is a residential cloth unless a treated lining or a certificate is arranged for the project. Every colourway is listed as Oeko-Tex.

Best Use & Limits

What Pressure does at the window, and what it does not

Best use

Pressure is a sheer, so it goes where the point is daylight and the view: living rooms and dining rooms on the water, a wall of sliders, a bedroom by day with a blackout layer behind it for night. Railroaded at 120 in it runs seamless across a window wall on a ceiling track, ripplefold at 2.5 to 3 times fullness.

Light and privacy

A sheer filters hard sunlight into an even glow and keeps the view; it takes the glare off a white sofa without hiding the water. It gives no privacy at night with the lights on, so a bedroom takes a lined or blackout panel on a second track behind it, and it is not a blackout.

Cloth and care

48% recycled polyester, 29% linen and 23% organic cotton; care WA-P (washable or dry clean). Cotton and linen are lined here for the sun, and they move a little with the humidity, which is part of the look. Listed as Oeko-Tex.

Limitations

No privacy at night with the lights on, and no blackout; it is layered where either is needed. Railroaded wide-width goods are not cut into Roman shades; for a matching Roman we pick a 54 inch cloth from the same book. The seamless drop tops out at about 10 ft; a taller wall is seamed or turned back up the roll. No fire listing from Alendel, so a commercial or condo common-area job needs a certificate arranged for the project or another cloth.

Width, content, repeat, care code, fire listings and weight per yard are Alendel's own listing for each colourway, captured from its trade catalogue; the stock flag is Alendel's public availability filter on the day we read it and is confirmed against the order before anything is cut. We bring the Alendel books to the consultation.

South Florida

Where Pressure works here

Nothing suits a wall of South Florida glass like a sheer, and Pressure goes where our sheers go: Brickell and Miami Beach condos, Fort Lauderdale waterfront homes, Boca Raton and Palm Beach island. Railroaded at 120 in it runs seamless on a recessed Somfy or Lutron track across an ocean wall, the fullness trimmed so the stack clears the glass, over a solar roller for the glare by day. Every panel is cut and sewn by our five in-house seamstresses in Fort Lauderdale.

For the same use, compare Pressure with Gravity (sheer, 125 in railroaded, 7 colourways), Ignite (sheer, 120 in railroaded, 7 colourways) and Ecotone (sheer, 125 in railroaded, 6 colourways); the table on each page lists the width, content, care code, fire listings and weight side by side.

Good to Know

Pressure: frequently asked

How many colours does Alendel Pressure come in?

4 colourways by Alendel's listing, all 4 flagged in stock by Alendel. Every one is on this page with its swatch, colour code and FB item number, and we bring the shortlist to the consultation so the colour is judged in your own light.

Can Pressure run seamless across a whole wall of glass?

Yes. At 120 in it is railroaded: the cloth is turned sideways, the width becomes the drop, and a window wall up to about 10 ft high carries no seam. Taller than that it is seamed, or run up the roll with a seam at each width.

Is Pressure washable?

Alendel gives it care code WA-P (washable or dry clean), so yes: it can be washed, and dry cleaned as well where the code allows it. The code is in the specification table below for every colourway.

What does Pressure cost made up as sheers?

It is quoted from the yardage: the width and height of the window, the fullness, the repeat if there is one, the lining and the track or rod. The pricing page has real numbers for sheers, motorized tracks and blackout draperies, and a quote for Pressure follows from a measure. Ask for a price with the button above and we come back with a figure, not a range.
