What is the Somfy Altus RTS?
The Somfy Altus RTS is a 120V tube motor with a built-in RTS radio receiver, made in the 40, 50 and 60 series with torques from 4 to 100 Nm. Somfy positions it mainly for exterior applications. Altus RTS answers the full range of RTS remotes, wall switches, sensors and the TaHoma switch, so no control wiring is needed, only power. The model code gives the torque: an Altus RTS 525A2 is a 25 Nm motor, and the 6100R2 a 100 Nm motor for the largest shades and screens. Somfy lists the 525A2 at 56 dB, louder than the Sonesse range, which is why it is used outdoors rather than in bedrooms.
