At 56 in it is cut up the roll like a conventional drapery cloth: a panel joins widths at the seam, which sits inside a pleat, and a Roman shade takes one width up to roughly 50 inches finished before it needs a joined width. Alendel gives the repeat as vertical 16.14 in, horizontal 13.98 in; we match it across every seam and every window in the room, which adds yardage and is part of the quote. Being polyester it holds a pleat, keeps its size through humidity and a wash or a dry clean, and takes the sun better than a natural fibre, which matters on unshaded glass here. Alendel lists the weight at 1.71 lb per yard, heavy for a velvet, so the track or rod is sized to carry it. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean); Alendel's own line reads: washable, dry clean. It passes NFPA 701, the flame test a condo association, hotel or office asks for on drapery; it also carries CAL 117, NFPA 260 and UFAC Class 1, the upholstery flammability listings; and FMVSS 302, the automotive interior test.
