Lutron Tela Fabric
16 colourways, openness <6%, light-filtering / blackout, up to 116 inches wide. Every swatch and every specification, from a certified Lutron dealer in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach.
A canvas-like weave that also meets commercial fire codes
Tela (Italian for canvas) is the Atelier fabric that crosses into commercial work: a 100% polyester weave, light-filtering at under 6% openness, 116 inches wide, PVC-free and anti-microbial, and listed to NFPA 701. Its eight colours (Blanco, Aspen, Almond, Raffia, Fleece, Dove, Fossil, Vine) run from warm whites to soft greys.
Tela Blackout puts the same colours over an acrylic foamed backing, is rated for moist conditions and is also NFPA 701 listed. Both versions are seamable, not railroadable.

Where Tela works here
Tela is our go-to when a hospitality or office project wants a residential look with a fire listing: boutique hotel rooms, medical offices in Boca and Aventura, the model units in a new tower. At home it works anywhere a linen look is wanted on a large slider, and the 116-inch width usually covers it in one piece.
Tela: frequently asked
Which Atelier fabrics are fire rated?
Tela and Tela Blackout carry an NFPA 701 listing in Lutron's data; the other Atelier fabrics do not list a domestic fire rating. For a commercial specification, see our Lutron commercial and fire-rated fabrics page.
How wide can a Lutron Tela shade be?
Lutron publishes a maximum usable fabric width of 116 inches for Tela. It can be seamed for wider openings, or two shades share one headrail and move together. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
Which Lutron shades use Tela?
Tela is made up on Lutron roller shades. As a certified Lutron dealer in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach we order it for any Lutron system it is offered on and install it with our own team.
Is Tela PVC-free?
Yes. Lutron lists every Tela colourway as PVC-free, with Lead Free, Anti-microbial Properties, GREENGUARD Certified, RoHS Compliant certifications.
Can I see Tela samples before ordering?
Yes. Lutron makes memo samples of every Tela colourway on this page; tell us which colours you are considering and we order them from Lutron for your consultation. Both our Fort Lauderdale workroom (by appointment) and our Miami Beach showroom have Lutron shades running so you can see the fabrics in motion.
