Media Room Window Treatments
True darkness, softer acoustics, and shades that drop when the movie starts - on one button.
A screen deserves engineering
Media rooms fail on two things: light and echo. Ambient light washes contrast out of even an excellent projector, and hard modern surfaces make dialogue muddy. Window treatments solve both - a channeled blackout shade eliminates the light, and interlined drapery plus upholstered panels absorb the reflections that blur sound.
Then it should be automatic. We integrate the shades into your control system so the "Movie" scene drops the blackouts, closes the drapes, and dims the lights together - Lutron, Crestron, Control4, or Savant, programmed and documented by our own team.
Built for the screen
Channeled Blackout Shades
Side channels and a sealed header remove the halo that ruins projected contrast.
Acoustic Drapery
Interlined panels on the rear and side walls measurably reduce echo and improve dialogue clarity. What lining does for sound.
Upholstered Acoustic Panels
Fabric-wrapped absorbers for walls and ceiling - see upholstered wall panels.
Scene Integration
Shades join your Movie, Pause, and House scenes through Lutron, Crestron, Control4, or Savant.
Silent Motors
Motors chosen and speed-tuned so nothing is audible over the opening credits.
Full Room Coordination
Treatments, panels, and seating upholstery fabricated in the same workroom - see home theater.
Screen rooms want dark, tight fabric
A screen room fights reflections, so the fabric is dark and tight. Lutron's figures for E Screen Charcoal/Grey at 1%: 2% of daylight through, and still a 25% view-through rating, so the room reads calm rather than sealed. For a film it goes to a blackout, opaque, in side channels. Colour is not a taste decision here. A white fabric glows when the sun is on it and becomes the brightest thing in the room, straight across from the screen.

Frequently asked
Do I need blackout if the room has no windows?
No - but you may still want acoustic drapery and panels, which is where most of the sound improvement comes from.
Can the shades trigger with my projector?
Yes - through your control system. Pressing Movie can lower shades, close drapes, and set lights in one command.
Does drapery really improve sound?
Interlined fabric absorbs mid and high frequencies - the reflections that smear dialogue. It is why cinemas have fabric walls.
Which control systems do you work with?
Lutron, Crestron, Control4, Savant, and Somfy - we are certified on the shading side and coordinate directly with your integrator.
