Octave is one of the Alendel plain cloths we make up here, with 12 colourways on the card, in 100% polyester, at 55 in wide. The colours run Ambrosia, Bark, Grape, Jasper, Keylime, Lake, Monaco, Nougat and 4 more, across the pink, beige, purple, grey, green and blue families. 11 of the 12 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's Amplify Book.
At 55 in it is cut up the roll like a conventional drapery cloth: a panel joins widths at the seam, which sits inside a pleat, and a Roman shade takes one width up to roughly 50 inches finished before it needs a joined width. Being polyester it holds a pleat, keeps its size through humidity and a wash or a dry clean, and takes the sun better than a natural fibre, which matters on unshaded glass here. It weighs 0.49 lb per yard by Alendel's listing, which is on the light side. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean); Alendel's own line reads: washable, dry clean. It passes NFPA 701, the flame test a condo association, hotel or office asks for on drapery; and FMVSS 302, the automotive interior test. Every colourway is listed as Oeko-Tex. What Octave does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Octave works both ways from the same bolt: pinch pleat, Euro pleat or ripplefold panels in the main rooms and flat, relaxed or hobbled Roman shades on the secondary windows, so the kitchen, study and baths read as one scheme with the living room.
Light and privacy
Closed, Octave gives full privacy. What the room looks like closed comes from the lining we sew in: light-filtering for living areas, interlining for body and acoustics, blackout for bedrooms. The lining also carries the UV load off the face cloth.
Cloth and care
100% polyester; 0.49 lb per yard; care WA-P (washable or dry clean); 25,000 rubs abrasion. Polyester keeps its size and its pleat in humid air and after cleaning, and holds its colour in the sun better than a natural fibre. Listed as Oeko-Tex.
Limitations
At 55 in a wide panel is made of joined widths; the seams sit inside the pleats. 1 of the 12 colour is not flagged in stock, so that colour is a mill order with a longer lead time; we confirm stock before anything is cut.

Yes. At 55 in it is cut up the roll, so a flat, relaxed or hobbled Roman shade comes from a single width up to roughly 50 inches finished and is seamed on a fold line beyond that. Lined, interlined or blackout-lined, cordless or on a Lutron or Somfy motor, sewn in the same workroom as the panels.
