Pathway is one of the Alendel jacquards we make up here, with 6 colourways on the card, in 100% polyester, at 54 in wide. The card is Beige, Bolero, Coin, Midnight, Thistle and Eclipse; Alendel files them under beige, red, brown, black and grey. All 6 flagged in stock by Alendel. It sits in Alendel's Bryant Park Book.
At 54 in it is cut up the roll like a conventional drapery cloth: a panel joins widths at the seam, which sits inside a pleat, and a Roman shade takes one width up to roughly 50 inches finished before it needs a joined width. Alendel gives the repeat as vertical 14.375 in, horizontal 13.75 in; we match it across every seam and every window in the room, which adds yardage and is part of the quote. Being polyester it holds a pleat, keeps its size through humidity and a wash or a dry clean, and takes the sun better than a natural fibre, which matters on unshaded glass here. Alendel lists the weight at 0.70 lb per yard, medium-weight for a jacquard. Care is WA-P (washable or dry clean); Alendel's own line reads: washable, dry clean. It carries FMVSS 302, the automotive interior test. Every colourway is listed as Oeko-Tex. Country of origin, as Alendel lists it: India.
What Pathway does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Pathway works both ways from the same bolt: pinch pleat, Euro pleat or ripplefold panels in the main rooms and flat, relaxed or hobbled Roman shades on the secondary windows, so the kitchen, study and baths read as one scheme with the living room.
Light and privacy
An opaque cloth, so privacy is complete when it is closed. The light is decided by the lining: light-filtering keeps a living room glowing, thermal or bump interlining adds body and quiet, blackout turns a bedroom dark. Pathway is lined in every case; on west glass we line generously so the face does not fade.
Cloth and care
100% polyester; 0.70 lb per yard; care WA-P (washable or dry clean); 15,000 rubs abrasion. Polyester keeps its size and its pleat in humid air and after cleaning, and holds its colour in the sun better than a natural fibre. Listed as Oeko-Tex.
Limitations
At 54 in a wide panel is made of joined widths; the seams sit inside the pleats, and the repeat is matched at every seam, which costs yardage.

A print like this shows best on a flat fold, where the folds do not break the design.
