Phifer SheerWeave 7800/7850 Fabric
16 colourways, blackout / light-filtering, up to 118 inches wide. Every swatch and every published specification, from the workroom that cuts Phifer in Fort Lauderdale and installs it from Miami to Palm Beach.
A warm eight-colour pair, and the only one Phifer lists for Roman shades
SheerWeave 7800 is a blackout at 52% polyester and 48% acrylic foamed backing, 12.9 oz per square yard and 0.026 inches thick, publishing Tv 0 and solar reflectance of 70% across the card. Style 7850 is the light-filtering twin, 100% polyester with an acrylic coating at 7.4 oz and 0.027 inches. Both are 118 inches wide and neither is recommended for railroading. Both are listed to NFPA 701 TM#1 and BFD IX-1, with GREENGUARD Gold, RoHS, REACH and the ANSI/WCMA A100.1 lead-content standard, and neither carries a Microban additive.
Eight colours run across both under the same Phifer codes: Blanco, Almond, Raffia, Dove, Vine, Fleece, Aspen and Fossil. This is the one pair in the 7000 series that Phifer lists for Roman shades as well as roller shades and panel tracks, which matters when a room is getting a soft treatment rather than a roller, or when a house wants Romans in the bedrooms and rollers everywhere else in the same fabric. Raffia, Vine and Almond give the card a warmer, more natural range than the grey-led pairs.

Tv = visible light transmitted, Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed, in percent, as published by Phifer for the fabric on its own. SHGC single = solar heat gain coefficient of the fabric behind single 1/4 in clear glass (1/8 in where that is what Phifer publishes), SHGC insul. = behind 1 in insulating glass with a high-performance coating (1/2 in clear where published). Exterior SunTex and SunScreen figures are for the fabric installed outside the glass at a 30 degree profile angle. We bring the sample books to the consultation.
Where SheerWeave 7800/7850 works here
A bedroom or a study getting a Roman shade rather than a roller, which in South Florida is usually a smaller window in an older Fort Lauderdale or Coral Gables house rather than a slider. The blackout gives the room total darkness in a fabric that hangs in folds, and the light-filtering twin covers the same window in a daytime treatment. Where the opening is a wide slider we go back to a roller in the same card.
SheerWeave 7800/7850: frequently asked
Can these be made as Roman shades?
Phifer lists Style 7800 and Style 7850 for roller shades, Roman shades and panel tracks, which the other 7000 series pairs do not carry. Our Fort Lauderdale workroom makes Romans in house, so the fabric and the construction are settled in the same conversation.
Which colour for a bedroom?
Blanco and Almond are the pale end and sit with most wall colours; Fossil and Aspen are the darker neutrals. The blackout publishes 70% solar reflectance across the whole card, so unlike the 7700R pair the colour choice here is about the room rather than about heat.
How wide can a Phifer SheerWeave 7800/7850 shade be?
Phifer publishes standard roll widths of 118" (300 cm) for SheerWeave 7800/7850, so a single shade can run to about 118 inches wide before a seam or a second shade is needed. Wider openings are covered with two shades on one headrail programmed to move together, or with a seam placed where the mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in SheerWeave 7800/7850?
SheerWeave 7800/7850 is made up as roller shades, roman shades, and panel tracks. We source it directly from Phifer, so the same weave goes on Lutron, Somfy, Crestron or Vertilux motors or a manual chain, cut and finished in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
Is SheerWeave 7800/7850 PVC-free?
Phifer's published composition for SheerWeave 7800/7850 is 52% Polyester / 48% Acrylic Foamed Backing; 100% Polyester with Acrylic Coating: no vinyl and no PVC in the yarn or the coating, with GREENGUARD Gold, RoHS, REACH, ANSI/WCMA A100.1 lead content listed.
Can I see SheerWeave 7800/7850 samples before ordering?
