The wide polyester blackout, in a commercial and a residential version
SheerWeave 7500 and 7500R are the same 100% polyester blackout with an acrylic coating in two versions: 7500 is the commercial one, 12.14 oz per square yard and 0.016 inches thick with the fuller fire listing, and 7500R is the residential one, 10.7 oz and 0.012 inches, the thinnest fabric in the Phifer library. Both are 118 inches wide, both publish Tv 0, and neither is recommended for railroading. Neither carries a Microban additive; Phifer lists the ASTM E 2180 and ASTM G21 test methods instead, along with GREENGUARD Gold, RoHS and the ANSI/WCMA A100.1 lead-content standard.
Twelve colours run across both cards, from Ice, Cloud and Porcelain through Limestone, Mist, Nimbus and Tundra to Dune, Stone, Odyssey, Orient and Midnight, and Style 7500 adds two doubled colourways, Orient x2 and Midnight x2, for a heavier hand. The fire listings are what separate them: 7500 carries California Title 19, NFPA 701 TM#1, NFPA 101 Class A, IBC Section 803.1.1 Class A, BS 5867 Part 2 Type B, CAN/ULC-S 109 and CAN/CGSB 2-4.162-M80, while 7500R lists California Technical Bulletin 117 with Class B ratings under NFPA 101 and IBC 803.1.1.

SHGC single = solar heat gain coefficient of the fabric behind single 1/4 in clear glass (1/8 in where that is what Phifer publishes), SHGC insul. = behind 1 in insulating glass with a high-performance coating (1/2 in clear where published). This is our default wide blackout for a primary bedroom on the water: 118 inches covers most openings in one piece, the twelve-colour card sits with almost any scheme, and the polyester construction is lighter on a long drop than a laminated fabric. In side channels it takes a Sunny Isles or Hallandale bedroom to sleep-dark. Where the job is a hotel or a condo common area, we specify 7500 rather than 7500R for the fire listing.

What is the difference between 7500 and 7500R?
The fire listing and the hand. Style 7500 carries NFPA 701 and Class A ratings and is Phifer's commercial version; 7500R lists California Technical Bulletin 117 with Class B ratings and is thinner and lighter, at 0.012 inches against 0.016. The twelve colours are the same on both cards.
Will it make a bedroom completely dark?
The fabric publishes Tv 0, so nothing comes through it. The light you see in a finished bedroom comes past the edges, which is what side channels or a generous outside mount are for. We show you both options before we make the shade.
Is it PVC-free?
Its published composition is 100% polyester with an acrylic coating, so there is no vinyl in it. Phifer reserves the explicit PVC-Free label for Style 7001. Both versions appear on our PVC-free and recycled page.
How wide can a Phifer SheerWeave 7500/7500R Blackout shade be?
Phifer publishes standard roll widths of 118" (300 cm) for SheerWeave 7500/7500R Blackout, so a single shade can run to about 118 inches wide before a seam or a second shade is needed. A seam in a blackout shows as a line of light, so wider openings get two shades on one headrail programmed to move together. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
