Zebra shades - also called dual, banded, or layered shades - alternate sheer and opaque fabric bands on a continuous loop. Align the bands and the room fills with softened light and view; offset them and the solid bands overlap for privacy. It is the most flexible light control you can put on one roller tube.
We fabricate zebra shades to the millimeter in our Fort Lauderdale workroom, with cassettes and fabrics chosen for South Florida glass - and motorization by Lutron or Somfy so the bands glide to the exact position you programmed.

Offset bands give strong daytime and evening privacy. With interior lights on, near-opaque solid bands perform best; for absolute privacy and darkness, pair with a blackout layer.
Zebra shades vs dual rollers - what is the difference?
A zebra shade is one banded fabric on one tube; a dual roller is two separate fabrics (like solar + blackout) on one bracket. We bring both to your consultation.
Can they be motorized?
Yes - Lutron and Somfy motors move the bands to programmed positions, so your favorite balance of light and privacy is one tap away.
Are they good for South Florida sun?
