Duke is one of the Holland & Sherry cloths we make up as sheers: a wool sheer (100% wool). The range runs to 2 colourways: Cream and Putty. They file it with their sheers.
A wool sheer brings a softness a polyester voile does not have, and wool resists flame on its own; what it does not resist is hard sun, so on unshaded west glass a solar roller behind it does the shading. In a lived-in, air-conditioned house it is at home (curtain fabric types).

Best use
Duke is a sheer: daylight and the view by day, ripplefold or pinch pleat on a ceiling track, with a lined or blackout panel on a second track behind it in a bedroom. Holland & Sherry list no width for it on their product page, so the roll width is confirmed before deciding whether it runs seamless.
Light and privacy
A sheer filters hard sunlight into an even glow and keeps the view. It gives no privacy at night with the lights on, so a bedroom takes a lined or blackout panel on a second track behind it.
Cloth and care
100% wool.
Limitations
No privacy at night with the lights on, and no blackout; it is layered where either is needed. Natural fibres fade in hard sun, so on unshaded south or west glass a solar roller behind it takes the sun first. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth. Holland & Sherry list no width on the product page, so the width is confirmed before the yardage is. Holland & Sherry flag 2 of the colourways as limited stock.

Your designer specifies
Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so the cloth is chosen and ordered by your designer, with the colour code and the sample in hand. Not working with a designer? Tell us; we can suggest a cloth we order ourselves.
We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the sheers, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.
Where Duke works here
On the ocean side of a Sunny Isles or Fort Lauderdale living room, Duke would hang floor to ceiling on a ceiling-mounted track, hand-drawn or motorized on Lutron or Somfy, with a solar roller behind it for the glare and, in a bedroom, a blackout panel on a second track. It is cut and sewn in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.

Is Duke fire rated for drapery?
Holland & Sherry's data gives no NFPA 701 result for it. For a residence that is not an issue; where a building asks for NFPA 701 on the drapery, ask your designer whether Holland & Sherry can supply it flame treated with a certificate, or choose another cloth.
