Holland & Sherry cloth, made up in our own workroom
By Holland & Sherry's own account, the house began in 1836, when Stephen Holland and Frederick Sherry set up as woollen merchants in London's Golden Square, and the interiors house grew out of that suiting cloth in 1998. It sells to the trade. This library is the part of it we make up: every cloth Holland & Sherry themselves list for drapery or sheers, 930 colourways in 120 patterns, most of them wool. Mélange flannels and sateens, tweeds, checks and plaids woven in Chile, Italy, the UK and France, cashmeres made with Johnstons of Elgin, linen weaves, silks, velvets, outdoor performance cloths and wide-width wool, linen and hemp sheers.
We are not a Holland & Sherry dealer and we do not sell their cloth. Your designer chooses it, orders it by the colour code and has it sent to our Fort Lauderdale workroom. We measure, work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, and our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the draperies and sheers, which our own installers hang on decorative rods, hand-drawn tracks or Lutron and Somfy motorized tracks. Holland & Sherry's photographs stay on their own site, and every pattern page here links to it, beside their figures, their end-use line and what their sheet says about drapery.

The library by the numbers
120 patterns, 930 colourways
Every cloth whose drapery use Holland & Sherry state themselves, on a spec sheet, a product page or in their Sheers category, read on October 7, 2026. They spread these cloths over 132 pattern pages; where two of their pages hold the same cloth, it has one page here. A pattern with a spec sheet and two or more colourways has an indexed page; the rest are reached from the grids.
84 of them contain wool
Wool is what Holland & Sherry are known for, from 13 ounce mélange flannels to tweeds and plaids over 25 ounces a yard. It resists flame on its own and fades in the sun, so a wool drapery wants a lining, and on bright south or west glass a shade in front of it.
Widths from 48 to 131 inches
The drapery cloths run 48 to 61 inches wide, so a panel joins widths with the seams inside the pleats. Most of the sheers that give a width are wide-width goods of 104 to 131 inches, and where the sheet speaks to it, Holland & Sherry note they can be turned and railroaded so a wall of glass runs without a seam.
NFPA 701 on three sheets
Only Andes, Patagonia and Harper carry an NFPA 701 line, and each reads can be treated to pass. NFPA 701 is the drapery flame test a condo association, a hotel or an office asks for, so for a common area or a commercial job the treatment and its certificate are arranged before the cloth is cut. The Trevira CS sheers are flame retardant in the fibre itself.
How a Holland & Sherry drapery is made, and who does what
Your designer specifies
Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so the cloth is chosen and ordered by your designer, with the colour code and the sample in hand. Not working with a designer? Tell us; we can suggest a cloth we order ourselves.
We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the draperies and sheers, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.
How to read a Holland & Sherry spec sheet
A Holland & Sherry spec sheet is a page of figures and a few short blocks in capitals. This is what each part means at the window, in the order we read them.
END USE is the line this library is built on. It lists everything Holland & Sherry make the cloth for, usually with upholstery first and drapery somewhere in the list, as in drapery, upholstery, accessories, soft goods and wall upholstery; the wide sheers read drapery and window treatments alone. Where drapery is not in the line, as on thirteen of their upholstery cloths, the cloth is not on this page, and where a cloth has no sheet, the only other evidence is their product page or their Sheers category.
The DRAPERY block is Holland & Sherry's instruction to the workroom, and most wool and linen sheets carry the same two points: hang the drapery before hemming, so the cloth adjusts to the climate of the room, and line every drapery, to block the light and protect the face. Natural fibres move with humidity, which is why that note matters more in South Florida than in most places.
Width comes in inches and centimetres: the drapery cloths here are 48 to 61 inches; the wide sheers run 104 to 131. FABRIC DIRECTION says whether a stripe runs up the roll or across the width, gives the outdoor drapery cloths as railroaded, and on the wide sheers says whether the cloth can be turned 90 degrees and railroaded. Weight is given per linear yard and per linear metre: 13 to 16 ounces a yard is a light suiting flannel, over 25 a heavy cloth that needs a track or rod sized for it.
The flame tests on most sheets are upholstery tests, Cal 117-2013, BS 5852 cigarette and match and NFPA 260, because the same cloth covers chairs. NFPA 701, the drapery test, appears on three sheets. Care is professional dry clean only on most of the wool sheets, with cleaning code S on the older ones.
Waterfalls and hangers
Holland & Sherry sample by the waterfall card and the hanger, numbered DEWF and DEHSH on the sheet; Andes is waterfall DEWF004. Your designer orders them from Holland & Sherry, and each pattern page gives the numbers its sheet carries.
Custom colours
Most sheets give a custom-colour minimum, usually 130 yards (120 metres), with a trial and a production lead time. It is a Holland & Sherry service, ordered through your designer, and the minimum is why it suits a whole house rather than one window.
Product page or sheet
Holland & Sherry publish each cloth twice, on the product page and on the spec sheet, and now and then the two disagree on a figure. Where they do, on 7 patterns here, the pattern page shows both, with a note to confirm before ordering.
Colour codes
Every colourway has a code (DE11426 is Andes in Marble). It is what the order and the designer's schedule carry, and it is in the specification table on every pattern page, with a link to Holland & Sherry's own page and photograph.

Holland & Sherry on our installations
At the Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach the designer's fabric schedule called for two Holland & Sherry wool jacquards for the blackout drapery in the children's bedrooms, Spencer in Ink and Fitzroy in Parchment, made up on Lutron Sivoia QS tracks and paired with sheers from Jean de Merry and Fabricut. The Spencer flannel is a reversible cloth, and the schedule called for its lighter face outward, which is how it was hung. Neither appears in the library below, because Holland & Sherry's site gives no end use for either; the library lists only what they give for drapery. Every Holland & Sherry drapery on these pages is made the same way: to the designer's schedule, lined, in our Fort Lauderdale workroom.

Holland & Sherry fabrics: frequently asked
Do you sell Holland & Sherry fabric?
No. Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, and we are not their dealer. Your designer orders the cloth from them; we measure, give the yardage, and make and install the draperies and sheers in our own workroom. Without a designer, ask us: we can suggest a comparable cloth from the houses we order from ourselves.
Which Holland & Sherry fabrics are on this page?
Every cloth Holland & Sherry themselves list for drapery or sheers when we read their site on October 7, 2026: 930 colourways in 120 patterns. Most have a spec sheet whose end use names drapery; the rest are filed with their sheers or marked for drapery on the product page. Cloths they list for upholstery only, or give no use for, are not here; ask us about one and we will check it with your designer.
Why are there no swatch photographs?
Holland & Sherry's photographs belong to them, so they stay on their site, and every pattern page links to their page for each colourway, where the photograph is. Here we give what matters for making drapery: the composition, width, repeat, weight and origin, their drapery note, the fabric direction and the care.
Is wool a good drapery cloth in South Florida?
In the right room, yes. Wool resists flame on its own, drapes with weight and quiets a room, but the sun fades and weakens it, and a humid, closed-up house is hard on it. In an air-conditioned room, lined, with a shade in front of it on bright south or west glass, a wool drapery is at home. More in curtain fabric types.
Do any Holland & Sherry fabrics pass NFPA 701?
Three sheets carry an NFPA 701 line, Andes, Patagonia and Harper, and each reads can be treated to pass. For a condo common area, a hotel or an office, the treatment and its certificate are arranged through Holland & Sherry before the cloth is cut. The three Trevira CS sheers are flame retardant in the fibre itself.
How long does a Holland & Sherry drapery take?
Once the cloth reaches our workroom, fabrication takes about three to four weeks and the installation a day or two. Holland & Sherry's delivery to us depends on the cloth and the colour, and your designer confirms it with the order.

He took the time to patiently walk us through everything about the motorized shades and drapes, answered all our questions, and helped us figure out the best options for our place. The whole thing went super smooth from start to finish, and he was definitely a man of his word. Great experience!”
“I wasn't thinking about motorized drapes at first, I just wanted some nice curtains foe the living room. But the team at exotic shades give me the right configuration and I can't be more than happy. Good job”
“They did an amazing job with the Roman shades and draperies! They really boosted the look of my place and were very easy to work with! Definitely would go back with them if another opportunity comes across.”
