Mélange wool sheer at 120 in for walls of glass, in 7 colourways
Holland & Sherry make Wool Challis as a mélange wool sheer (100% wool, 120 in wide, made in Italy). It comes in 7 colourways, Bianco, Cemento, Natura, Azzurro, Grigio, Carbone and Lily White. Their information sheet calls it "Perfect for both drapery and window treatments".
At 120 in it is a wide-width cloth: turned 90 degrees, the 120 inch width becomes the drop, so a panel nearly that tall, less the heading and the hem, needs no seam, which is how a sheer runs across a window wall.
Wool is naturally flame resistant but not sun resistant: it fades and weakens in direct sun, so on bright south or west glass a solar roller behind the sheer takes the sun first. It can stretch a little over time in humid air, and it is happiest in an air-conditioned room (what each fibre does).

What Wool Challis does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Wool Challis is a wide-width sheer, so it is for walls of glass: ripplefold on a ceiling track, two and a half to three times fullness so the wave is even from end to end, in living and dining rooms where the point is the light and the view.
Light and privacy
By day it softens the light and frames the view; after dark, with the room lit, the room shows from outside, so sheers are layered with a lined or blackout panel where privacy matters.
Cloth and care
100% wool.
Limitations
No privacy at night with the lights on, and no blackout; it is layered where either is needed. Natural fibres fade in hard sun, so on unshaded south or west glass a solar roller behind it takes the sun first. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth.

How Wool Challis becomes sheers in your home
Your designer specifies
Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so the cloth is chosen and ordered by your designer, with the colour code and the sample in hand. Not working with a designer? Tell us; we can suggest a cloth we order ourselves.
We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the sheers, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.

Sheers are our most requested drapery, from Brickell and Miami Beach condos to Fort Lauderdale waterfront homes and Palm Beach island, and Wool Challis would be made up the way ours are: ripplefold on a ceiling track, deep double hems weighted to hang plumb, the fullness set for the cloth, as across five rooms at the Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach on Lutron Sivoia QS tracks (other cloths, to the designer's schedule). Every panel is cut and sewn by our five in-house seamstresses in Fort Lauderdale.
