Limassol is an outdoor texture from Holland & Sherry, in their Higgins Giles & Co outdoor range (72% polyolefin, 28% polyester, 55 in wide, made in Italy). What Limassol does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Limassol is an outdoor performance cloth that Holland & Sherry list for drapery as well as upholstery, so it is the drapery for an outdoor room: a loggia, a cabana, a covered terrace, pinch pleat or ripplefold on a track rated for outdoors.
Light and privacy
An opaque cloth, so privacy is complete when it is closed. The lining sets the light: a light-filtering sateen keeps a room glowing, an interlining adds body and quiet, a blackout lining turns a bedroom dark (lining guide).
Cloth and care
72% polyolefin, 28% polyester; 23 oz per linear yard (730 g per linear metre); Martindale 50,000 rubs; Wyzenbeek 50,000 double rubs. Care, by Holland & Sherry's sheet: do not dry clean; washed as their care instructions describe.
Limitations
At 55 in a wide panel is made of joined widths; the seams sit inside the pleats. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth.

We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the draperies, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.
