Holland & Sherry Deveron Check
Moray cashmere check, 3 colourways, 97% cashmere, 3% silk, 54 in wide. Holland & Sherry's own figures, and how we make it up as draperies in our Fort Lauderdale workroom, from the cloth your designer orders.
Moray cashmere check, 54 in wide, in 3 colourways
Deveron Check is a Moray cashmere check from Holland & Sherry, in the Moray Cashmere collection they make with Johnstons of Elgin (97% cashmere, 3% silk, 54 in wide, made in the UK). The range runs to 3 colourways: Camel, Sky and Charcoal Rust. Their spec sheet gives its end use as "Light upholstery, drapery, accessories, and soft goods".
The 54 in width runs up the roll, so panels are made of joined widths and the seams fall inside the pleats. The repeat is 3.6 in across, 4.25 in down, matched at every seam and across the windows of a room, so the yardage is worked out on the repeat rather than the finished size.
Cashmere is a protein fibre like wool, soft and light for its warmth; it is lined against the sun, kept behind a shade on bright glass, and happiest in an air-conditioned room (what each fibre does). It weighs 14 oz per linear yard (429 g per linear metre) by Holland & Sherry's figures.
Their drapery note advises hanging the drapery before it is hemmed, so the cloth settles to the room.

What Deveron Check does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
We would make Deveron Check up as tailored panels, pinch pleat or ripplefold, lined, for a bedroom, a study or a living room that wants the warmth of a suiting cloth.
Light and privacy
An opaque cloth, so privacy is complete when it is closed. The lining sets the light: a light-filtering sateen keeps a room glowing, an interlining adds body and quiet, a blackout lining turns a bedroom dark (lining guide).
Cloth and care
97% cashmere, 3% silk; 14 oz per linear yard (429 g per linear metre); Martindale 14,000 rubs. Care, by Holland & Sherry's sheet: professional dry clean only.
Limitations
Not for unshaded south or west glass on its own: the sun fades natural fibres, so a shade goes in front of it there. At 54 in a wide panel is made of joined widths, and the repeat is matched at every seam, which costs yardage. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth.

How Deveron Check becomes draperies in your home
Your designer specifies
Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so the cloth is chosen and ordered by your designer, with the colour code and the sample in hand. Not working with a designer? Tell us; we can suggest a cloth we order ourselves.
We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the draperies, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.
Where Deveron Check works here
In South Florida a wool drapery belongs in an air-conditioned room with the glass shaded: a study, a dining room, a bedroom with a blackout lining, a media room where weight and quiet matter. At the Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach we made two Holland & Sherry wool jacquards up as blackout drapery on Lutron Sivoia QS tracks, to the designer's schedule; Deveron Check would be built the same way.
For the same use, compare Deveron Check with Lossie (Moray cashmere tweed, 54 in, 2 colourways), Findhorn (Moray cashmere windowpane, 54 in, 4 colourways) and Spey Hopsack (Moray cashmere hopsack, 54 in, 3 colourways).

Deveron Check: frequently asked
How many colours does Holland & Sherry Deveron Check come in?
3 colourways on Holland & Sherry's site when we read it on October 7, 2026: Camel, Sky and Charcoal Rust. Every one is listed on this page with its code; Holland & Sherry's photographs of each are on their own site, linked from the table.
Can I buy Deveron Check from you?
No. Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so your designer orders the cloth from them. We make it up and install it: we measure and work out the yardage, the cloth is sent to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, and our seamstresses cut and sew the draperies.
Do you match the Deveron Check repeat?
Always. Holland & Sherry give the repeat as 3.6 in across, 4.25 in down; we match it at every seam and from window to window, so the yardage your designer orders is worked out on the repeat.
Is Deveron Check fire rated for drapery?
Holland & Sherry's data gives no NFPA 701 result for it, only upholstery tests (Cal 117-2013; BS 5852 Cigarette). For a residence that is not an issue; where a building asks for NFPA 701 on the drapery, ask your designer whether Holland & Sherry can supply it flame treated with a certificate, or choose another cloth.
What does Deveron Check cost made up as draperies?
The cloth is bought through your designer at Holland & Sherry's price, so our quote covers what we make and install: the fabrication, the lining, the track or rod and the installation, worked out from the measure. Ask for a workroom price with the button above and we come back with a figure, not a range.
