Nairn Tweed is one of the Holland & Sherry cloths we make up as draperies: a Moray cashmere tweed in the Moray Cashmere collection they make with Johnstons of Elgin (55% cashmere, 45% merino wool, 54 in wide, made in the UK). The range runs to 2 colourways: Loden and Cobalt. Their spec sheet gives its end use as "Light upholstery, drapery, accessories, and soft goods".
The 54 in width runs up the roll, so panels are made of joined widths and the seams fall inside the pleats.
Cashmere is a protein fibre like wool, soft and light for its warmth; it is lined against the sun, kept behind a shade on bright glass, and happiest in an air-conditioned room (what each fibre does). It weighs 17 oz per linear yard (530 g per linear metre) by Holland & Sherry's figures.

Best use
We would make Nairn Tweed up as tailored panels, pinch pleat or ripplefold, lined, for a bedroom, a study or a living room that wants the warmth of a suiting cloth.
Light and privacy
An opaque cloth, so privacy is complete when it is closed. The lining sets the light: a light-filtering sateen keeps a room glowing, an interlining adds body and quiet, a blackout lining turns a bedroom dark (lining guide).

Limitations
Not for unshaded south or west glass on its own: the sun fades natural fibres, so a shade goes in front of it there. At 54 in a wide panel is made of joined widths; the seams sit inside the pleats. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth.

We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the draperies, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.

We have made Holland & Sherry wool up before: at the Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach the designer's schedule called for two Holland & Sherry wool jacquards, made up as blackout drapery on Lutron Sivoia QS tracks, the reversible flannel hung with its lighter face outward as specified.
