At 118 in it is a wide-width cloth: turned 90 degrees, the width becomes the drop, and a 118 inch cloth sews to about 110 inches finished without a seam, which is how a sheer runs across a window wall.

Best use
Stripe Sheer (Kalos Collection) is a wide-width sheer, so it is for walls of glass: ripplefold on a ceiling track, two and a half to three times fullness so the wave is even from end to end, in living and dining rooms where the point is the light and the view.
Light and privacy
A sheer filters hard sunlight into an even glow and keeps the view. It gives no privacy at night with the lights on, so a bedroom takes a lined or blackout panel on a second track behind it.
Cloth and care
75% linen, 20% wool, 5% polyester.
Limitations
No privacy at night with the lights on, and no blackout; it is layered where either is needed. Natural fibres fade in hard sun, so on unshaded south or west glass a solar roller behind it takes the sun first. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth.

The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the sheers, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.
