Holland & Sherry Tempo
Corduroy, 9 colourways, 100% cotton, 59 in wide. Holland & Sherry's own figures, and how we make it up as draperies in our Fort Lauderdale workroom, from the cloth your designer orders.
A corduroy at 59 in, in 9 colourways
Tempo is one of the Holland & Sherry cloths we make up as draperies: a corduroy in their Carnaby collection (100% cotton, 59 in wide, made in Italy). It comes in 9 colourways, Taupe, Saddle, Bronze, Deep Rust, Desert Rose, Crocus, Algae, Sea and 1 more. Their spec sheet gives its end use as "Upholstery, drapery, soft goods and accessories".
The 59 in width runs up the roll, so panels are made of joined widths and the seams fall inside the pleats. Holland & Sherry give the repeat as 0.2 in across; we match it across every seam and from window to window, which adds yardage and is figured into the order.
Cotton takes colour with a soft matte face; like linen it wants a lining that carries the UV, and it is kept out of wet rooms. It weighs 20 oz per linear yard (620 g per linear metre) by Holland & Sherry's figures.
Their drapery note advises hanging the drapery before it is hemmed, so the cloth settles to the room.

What Tempo does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Tempo is a tailored drapery cloth: pinch pleat, Euro pleat or ripplefold panels in a study, a bedroom or a living room, lined, on a decorative rod or a track.
Light and privacy
Closed, Tempo gives full privacy; how much light comes through is decided by the lining we sew behind it: light-filtering for living rooms, interlining for body and quiet, blackout for bedrooms (the lining guide).
Cloth and care
100% cotton; 20 oz per linear yard (620 g per linear metre); Martindale 25,000 rubs; Wyzenbeek 36,000 double rubs.
Limitations
At 59 in a wide panel is made of joined widths, and the repeat is matched at every seam, which costs yardage. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth.

Colour names, codes, colour families, widths, compositions, repeats, weights and origin are Holland & Sherry's own, from their product page for each colourway, read on October 7, 2026. How Tempo becomes draperies in your home
Your designer specifies
Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so the cloth is chosen and ordered by your designer, with the colour code and the sample in hand. Not working with a designer? Tell us; we can suggest a cloth we order ourselves.
We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the draperies, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.
Where Tempo works here
Tempo would be made up the way our draperies are: pinch pleat, Euro pleat or ripplefold, lined to the room, on a decorative rod, a hand-drawn track or a Lutron or Somfy motorized track, cut and sewn in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
For the same use, compare Tempo with Muse of Mayfair (heavy wool flannel, 59 in, 6 colourways), West End (heavy wool flannel, 59 in, 6 colourways) and Rambouillet (mélange wool velvet, 55 to 56 in, 36 colourways).

Tempo: frequently asked
How many colours does Holland & Sherry Tempo come in?
9 colourways on Holland & Sherry's site when we read it on October 7, 2026: Taupe, Saddle, Bronze, Deep Rust, Desert Rose, Crocus, Algae, Sea and Sapphire. Every one is listed on this page with its code; Holland & Sherry's photographs of each are on their own site, linked from the table.
Can I buy Tempo from you?
No. Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so your designer orders the cloth from them. We make it up and install it: we measure and work out the yardage, the cloth is sent to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, and our seamstresses cut and sew the draperies.
Will Tempo need seams?
Yes on most windows: at 59 in it runs up the roll, so a panel wider than one width is made of joined widths, with the seams hidden inside the pleats and the repeat matched at each seam.
Does Tempo need a lining?
Yes. The lining is chosen for the room: a light-filtering sateen for a living room, an interlining for body and quiet, a blackout lining for a bedroom (lining guide).
What does Tempo cost made up as draperies?
The cloth is bought through your designer at Holland & Sherry's price, so our quote covers what we make and install: the fabrication, the lining, the track or rod and the installation, worked out from the measure. Ask for a workroom price with the button above and we come back with a figure, not a range.
