Holland & Sherry Torridon
Cotton jacquard, 5 colourways, 96% cotton, 4% polyamide, 55 in wide. Holland & Sherry's own figures, and how we make it up as draperies in our Fort Lauderdale workroom, from the cloth your designer orders.
A cotton jacquard at 55 in, in 5 colourways
Torridon is a cotton jacquard from Holland & Sherry, in their Highland Fling collection (96% cotton, 4% polyamide, 55 in wide, made in France). The range runs to 5 colourways: Sandstone, Sunset, Blue Loch, Glen Green and Feldspar. Their spec sheet gives its end use as "Upholstery, drapery, wall upholstery, soft goods and accessories".
The 55 in width runs up the roll, so panels are made of joined widths and the seams fall inside the pleats. Holland & Sherry give the repeat as 14 in across, 21 in down; we match it across every seam and from window to window, which adds yardage and is figured into the order.
Cotton takes colour with a soft matte face; like linen it wants a lining that carries the UV, and it is kept out of wet rooms. It weighs 21 oz per linear yard (653 g per linear metre) by Holland & Sherry's figures.
Their drapery note advises hanging the drapery before it is hemmed, so the cloth settles to the room, and lining every drapery, to block the light and protect the face.

What Torridon does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Torridon is a tailored drapery cloth: pinch pleat, Euro pleat or ripplefold panels in a study, a bedroom or a living room, lined, on a decorative rod or a track.
Light and privacy
An opaque cloth, so privacy is complete when it is closed. The lining sets the light: a light-filtering sateen keeps a room glowing, an interlining adds body and quiet, a blackout lining turns a bedroom dark (lining guide).
Cloth and care
96% cotton, 4% polyamide; 21 oz per linear yard (653 g per linear metre).
Limitations
At 55 in a wide panel is made of joined widths, and the repeat is matched at every seam, which costs yardage. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth.

How Torridon becomes draperies in your home
Your designer specifies
Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so the cloth is chosen and ordered by your designer, with the colour code and the sample in hand. Not working with a designer? Tell us; we can suggest a cloth we order ourselves.
We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the draperies, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.
Where Torridon works here
Torridon would be made up the way our draperies are: pinch pleat, Euro pleat or ripplefold, lined to the room, on a decorative rod, a hand-drawn track or a Lutron or Somfy motorized track, cut and sewn in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
For the same use, compare Torridon with Musette (silk wool velvet, 55 in, 10 colourways), Cuillin (wool jacquard, 50 in, 6 colourways) and Glencoe (wool jacquard, 51 in, 6 colourways).

Torridon: frequently asked
How many colours does Holland & Sherry Torridon come in?
5 colourways on Holland & Sherry's site when we read it on October 7, 2026: Sandstone, Sunset, Blue Loch, Glen Green and Feldspar. Every one is listed on this page with its code; Holland & Sherry's photographs of each are on their own site, linked from the table.
Can I buy Torridon from you?
No. Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so your designer orders the cloth from them. We make it up and install it: we measure and work out the yardage, the cloth is sent to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, and our seamstresses cut and sew the draperies.
Is Torridon fire rated for drapery?
Holland & Sherry's data gives no NFPA 701 result for it, only upholstery tests (BS 5852 Cigarette & Match; Cal 117-2013). For a residence that is not an issue; where a building asks for NFPA 701 on the drapery, ask your designer whether Holland & Sherry can supply it flame treated with a certificate, or choose another cloth.
Do you match the Torridon repeat?
Always. Holland & Sherry give the repeat as 14 in across, 21 in down; we match it at every seam and from window to window, so the yardage your designer orders is worked out on the repeat.
What does Torridon cost made up as draperies?
The cloth is bought through your designer at Holland & Sherry's price, so our quote covers what we make and install: the fabrication, the lining, the track or rod and the installation, worked out from the measure. Ask for a workroom price with the button above and we come back with a figure, not a range.
