A wool linen texture at 55 in, in 6 colourways
Rockslide is a wool linen texture from Holland & Sherry, in their Western Skies collection (67% wool, 29% linen, 4% polyester, 55 in wide, made in the UK). It comes in 6 colourways, Beartooth, Canyon, Lasso, Pronghorn, Elk Ridge and Anvil. Their spec sheet gives its end use as "Upholstery, drapery, wall upholstery, soft goods, and accessories".
The 55 in width runs up the roll, so panels are made of joined widths and the seams fall inside the pleats. Holland & Sherry's sheet gives the direction as up the roll.
Wool is naturally flame resistant but not sun resistant: it fades and weakens in direct sun, so it is lined, and on unshaded south or west glass it wants a solar shade in front of it. It can stretch a little over time in humid air, and like silk it is a protein fibre that wants an air-conditioned room rather than a house closed up for the summer (what each fibre does). At 26 oz per linear yard (810 g per linear metre) it is a heavy cloth, so the track or rod is sized for the weight.
Their drapery note advises hanging the drapery before it is hemmed, so the cloth settles to the room, and lining every drapery, to block the light and protect the face.

What Rockslide does at the window, and what it does not
Best use
Rockslide is a heavy cloth, the kind that makes a drapery read as tailored: a study, a library, a dining room or a bedroom, pinch pleat or ripplefold on a track or rod sized for the weight, lined, often blackout-lined.
Light and privacy
Closed, Rockslide gives full privacy; how much light comes through is decided by the lining we sew behind it: light-filtering for living rooms, interlining for body and quiet, blackout for bedrooms (the lining guide).

67% wool, 29% linen, 4% polyester; 26 oz per linear yard (810 g per linear metre); Martindale 35,000 rubs. Care, by Holland & Sherry's sheet: professional dry clean only.
Limitations
Not for unshaded south or west glass on its own: the sun fades natural fibres, so a shade goes in front of it there. At 55 in a wide panel is made of joined widths; the seams sit inside the pleats. The weight needs a track or rod sized for it; a light decorative rod will bow. No NFPA 701 result in Holland & Sherry's data, so a condo common area or a commercial job that asks for it needs the cloth flame treated with a certificate, if Holland & Sherry can supply it that way, or another cloth.

Holland & Sherry sell to the trade, so the cloth is chosen and ordered by your designer, with the colour code and the sample in hand. Not working with a designer? Tell us; we can suggest a cloth we order ourselves.
We measure and give the yardage
We measure the windows, settle the style, the fullness and the lining, and work out the yardage on the width and the repeat, so the order to Holland & Sherry is right the first time.
We make and install
The cloth comes to our Fort Lauderdale workroom, where our five in-house seamstresses cut and sew the draperies, and our own installers hang them on the rod, track or motorized system the window calls for.

Is Rockslide fire rated for drapery?
Holland & Sherry's data gives no NFPA 701 result for it, only upholstery tests (BS 5852 Cigarette & Match; Cal 117-2013). For a residence that is not an issue; where a building asks for NFPA 701 on the drapery, ask your designer whether Holland & Sherry can supply it flame treated with a certificate, or choose another cloth.
How is Rockslide cleaned?
By Holland & Sherry's sheet: professional dry clean only. For dust between cleanings, their care note says to brush gently or vacuum with an upholstery attachment. More in cleaning shades and drapery.
