A satin screen in coffee tones with a white street side

T Screen Deco is the satin weave of T Screen in a bicolour face and a white reverse. It comes in 1%, 3% and 5%, 122 inches wide, in five colours that run from pale to dark: Cream, Cappuccino, Toffee, Mocha and Espresso. Because the street side is white on every colour, solar reflectance stays high across the whole card, 49% to 68%, where a dark face on any other screen would sit in single digits. That is the fabric's argument in one sentence: a warm, deep colour in the room and a bright, heat-reflecting face to the sun.

Visible transmission runs 10% in Cream down to 5% in Espresso, and visible reflectance 53% to 73%, so the room stays clearly readable through the weave while the glare goes. UV blockage is about 99% at 1%, 97% at 3% and 95% at 5%. Every colourway has a photograph of its reverse face on this page, which is the quickest way to settle what the building will see. Fire listings are NFPA 701 TM#1, California Title 19 and CAN/ULC-S109, with GREENGUARD Gold and RoHS lead free.

Tv = visible light transmitted, Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed, Rv = visible light reflected, in percent, as published by Mermet USA for the fabric on its own. SHGC int. and SHGC ext. = solar heat gain coefficient of the fabric mounted inside or outside residential double glazing, from the same spec sheets; UPF = Mermet's ultraviolet protection rating where it publishes one. We bring the sample books to the consultation.

Where T Screen Deco works here

This is the card we bring to a condo where the association requires a uniform white or pale exterior and the client wants a warm interior. Toffee or Mocha at 3% on an ocean-facing living room gives a deep, quiet colour inside while the tower still reads as one building from the beach. In a west-facing room we go to 1%, where the white back is doing the most work.

T Screen Deco is the warm-faced, white-backed satin at three openness factors; plain T Screen offers twelve two-tone colours and a genuinely reversible card, and T Screen KOOLBLACK the charcoal version with a heat-reflective back.

Good to Know

T Screen Deco: frequently asked

Why does a dark fabric reflect so much solar energy here?

Because the reflecting is done on the outside face. The street side of every T Screen Deco colour is white, so the fabric reflects 49% to 68% of the solar energy that reaches it while the room sees Cream, Cappuccino, Toffee, Mocha or Espresso. A conventional dark screen reflects single digits and absorbs the rest.

Will the shade look white from the street?

Pale, yes, on every colour, which is usually the point in a tower with an appearance rule. The reverse face of each colourway is photographed on this page so you can see exactly what the building gets before ordering.

How wide can a Mermet T Screen Deco shade be?

Mermet publishes standard roll widths of 122" (310 cm) for T Screen Deco, so a single shade can run to about 122 inches wide before a seam or a second shade is needed. Wider openings are covered with two shades on one headrail programmed to move together, or with a seam placed where the mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.

Which shades can be made in T Screen Deco?

T Screen Deco is a roller shade fabric. We source it directly from Mermet, so the same weave goes on Lutron, Somfy, Crestron or Vertilux motors or a manual chain, cut and finished in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.

Can I see T Screen Deco samples before ordering?

Yes. We keep the Mermet sample books in the Fort Lauderdale workroom (4539 Powerline Rd, by appointment) and the Miami Beach showroom (500 South Pointe Dr #150), and we bring the colours you shortlist to the in-home consultation so you can hold them against your glass in your own light.
