TOP Barolo Translucent 25 mm Fabric
6 colourways, light-filtering, 300 cm roll. TOP Window Covering fabric, made into honeycomb shades in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed from Miami to Palm Beach.
A dense light-filtering honeycomb: soft daylight in White and Ivory, near-dark in the rest
Barolo Translucent 25 mm is a dense polyester honeycomb from TOP Window Covering, only 0.17 mm thick but 300 g/m2, in a single 25 mm cell, and TOP rates it suitable for workstations. The datasheet lists six colours: White, Ivory, Sand, Gray, Anthracite and Black. TOP's collection page pictures only two of them, Sand and Black; the other four are listed with full figures but no swatch, so we choose those from a physical sample. On the window it makes a fine, even pleat.
The figures are the reason to read this page closely. White passes 11.9 percent of the visible light and Ivory 10.4, which is soft daylight. Sand passes 1.3, Gray 0.6, Anthracite 0.1 and Black 0: in those four colours this light-filtering cloth darkens a room almost as a blackout would. Reflectance follows the colour, from 79.1 percent in White to 35.2 in Black. So the colour decides the room: White or Ivory for a filtered one, the deep colours for a dim one.
What Barolo Translucent 25 mm does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
White and Ivory for a living room, a breakfast room or an office that wants soft daylight; Sand, Gray, Anthracite or Black for a guest room, a television room or a nap room that should go dim without a laminated blackout. The single 25 mm cell suits standard windows. Choose by colour, because colour changes this fabric's behavior more than anything else.
Privacy
By day every colour hides the room. After dark, White and Ivory behave like a light-filtering cloth and show a lit room as a glow with shadows. Black, at 0 visible transmission on TOP's datasheet, and Anthracite at 0.1 give almost nothing away through the cloth, though the edges still glow. For a bedroom, take Barolo Blackout 25 mm in the same colour.
Glare control
In the four dark colours the glare goes with most of the daylight, so a television or a monitor has no competition from the window. White and Ivory, at 11.9 and 10.4 percent visible transmission, turn direct sun into a soft, even light that keeps a screen workable. A low sun square on the window brightens the pale colours most.
Limitations
Do not choose Barolo Translucent in Black or Anthracite expecting a bright room: on TOP's figures those colours are nearly dark. Do not choose it in White expecting a dark one either. It comes in one cell size, TOP lists no fire listing for it, and four of the six colours have to be chosen from samples rather than pictures.

Every Barolo Translucent 25 mm colourway, with TOP's published figures
Tv = visible light transmitted, Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed, Tuv = UV transmitted, in percent for the fabric alone, as published on TOP's datasheet; a dash means TOP publishes no figure for that colour. We bring TOP samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.
Where Barolo Translucent 25 mm works here
On South Florida glass Barolo is a useful in-between. In White or Ivory it keeps a living room soft and bright while sending most of the sun's energy back out; in Anthracite or Black it gives a guest room or a television room a dim, even light without a laminated cloth. For a primary bedroom we would still take Barolo Blackout 25 mm in the same colour, the version that publishes zero transmission across the card.
Barolo Blackout 25 mm carries the same six colour names in a blackout that publishes zero transmission in every colour, which matters most in White and Ivory.
Barolo Translucent 25 mm: frequently asked
Is Barolo Translucent really light-filtering?
In White and Ivory, yes, at about a tenth of the visible light. In Sand, Gray, Anthracite and Black, TOP's datasheet gives 1.3 down to 0, so those colours behave close to a blackout through the cloth, although Black still passes 4.1 percent of the solar energy. If you want a dark colour and a softly lit room, this card cannot give you both.
Why do four colours have no swatch?
TOP's collection page pictures only Sand and Black. White, Ivory, Gray and Anthracite are on the datasheet with full figures but without a picture, so there is nothing reliable to show on a screen. We show those four as physical samples, and you choose them against your own window before the shade is made.
How wide can a honeycomb shade in TOP Barolo Translucent 25 mm be?
TOP makes Barolo Translucent 25 mm in a 300 cm (118 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one honeycomb shade can be made a little under 118 inches wide. Wider openings get two honeycomb shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in Barolo Translucent 25 mm?
Barolo Translucent 25 mm is a honeycomb shade fabric: the cells come formed in the fabric. We buy it from TOP Window Covering, cut it to the opening in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and build the shade cordless or motorized (Somfy Cord Lift WireFree in the headrail), and our own team installs it from Miami to Palm Beach.
Can I see Barolo Translucent 25 mm samples before ordering?
Yes. Shortlist the colours here and we bring TOP samples of them to the in-home consultation, so you can hold them against your own glass in your own light. Our Fort Lauderdale workroom (4539 Powerline Rd, by appointment) and Miami Beach showroom (500 South Pointe Dr #150) have motorized shades running if you want to see one move.
