A heavy light-filtering honeycomb in a deep 32 mm cell, for large windows
Lonato Translucent is the heaviest of TOP Window Covering's honeycomb fabrics: 0.5 mm thick and 400 g/m2, built from a woven layer combined with spun lace, and made in the deep 32 mm cell, with 38 mm and 45 mm on request. That construction gives the shade a textile surface and a substantial pleat that holds its scale from across a large room. Eight colours, from White and Alabaster through Linen, Natural and Sand to Gray, Slate and Brown. It is for big windows in rooms where the shade should look like fabric.
The cell is fixed at 32 mm unless you order a larger one, so the decision is mostly colour. White and Alabaster keep a room bright; Slate and Brown dim it and tint the light. TOP publishes no light figures and no fire listings for Lonato and marks it unsuitable for humid rooms, so it is a living room, dining room or sitting room fabric, chosen by sample at the window. There is no Lonato blackout, which is the thing to know before planning a whole floor in it.

Best use
Large living rooms, dining rooms and sitting rooms with tall windows, where the 32 mm pleat suits the scale and the shade sits beside drapery. White, Alabaster or Linen for a bright room, Sand or Natural beside wood and stone, Slate or Brown where the light should drop. On a very tall window, ask for the 38 mm or 45 mm cell. On a small one, choose a fabric with a smaller cell.
Privacy
By day it hides the room. After dark a lit room makes the shade glow and a person near it shows as a shadow; TOP publishes no figures, but the darker colours will show less than White. For a bedroom the answer is a blackout from another range, such as Mogri Blackout, because Lonato has no blackout twin.
Glare control
With no openness and a thick cloth, direct sun arrives as a diffuse glow rather than a beam. TOP publishes no optical figures, so the brightness of that glow cannot be ranked by colour on paper; Slate and Brown will be calmer for a television than White or Alabaster. A low sun square on the window still lights the whole shade.
Limitations
No light figures, no fire listings, no humid-room rating, no blackout twin and one standard cell: Lonato is a decorative choice with little data behind it. Keep it out of bathrooms and code-reviewed spaces. On a small window the deep pleat can look heavy; take Soprano Translucent in its smaller cell there instead.

Where Lonato Translucent works here
In South Florida we would put Lonato in the large living and dining rooms of Boca Raton and Palm Beach houses with tall windows, where a fine pleat would look busy and the shade has to hold its own beside drapery. Its weight is worth knowing on a large motorized shade. For the bedrooms, the nearest textured blackouts are Mogri Blackout and Soprano Blackout, both available in the 32 mm cell.
Mogri Translucent is the nearest textured sibling: half the thickness, made in a smaller cell as well as the 32 mm, and rated for humid rooms with fire listings on its datasheet, where Lonato has neither.

Is there a blackout Lonato?
No. TOP offers Lonato only as a light-filtering fabric. For a bedroom on the same floor we would choose a textured blackout from another TOP honeycomb, Soprano Blackout or Mogri Blackout, in the same 32 mm cell, and match the colour by holding the samples together rather than by name.
Does the weight matter?
At 400 g/m2 Lonato is more than twice the weight of most of TOP's honeycomb fabrics, so a large shade is heavy. That suits a big window, but it is a load to plan for: on a motorized shade we confirm the lift before ordering, and a large cordless shade takes a firmer hand to raise than a light one.
How wide can a honeycomb shade in TOP Lonato Translucent be?
TOP makes Lonato Translucent in a 300 cm (118 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one honeycomb shade can be made a little under 118 inches wide. Wider openings get two honeycomb shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in Lonato Translucent?
Lonato Translucent is a honeycomb shade fabric: the cells come formed in the fabric. We buy it from TOP Window Covering, cut it to the opening in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and build the shade cordless or motorized (Somfy Cord Lift WireFree in the headrail), and our own team installs it from Miami to Palm Beach.
