Light-filtering honeycomb in the smallest cell, 20 mm, for small windows and doors
Ripasso Translucent 20 mm shares its thickness and weight with the larger-cell Ripasso Translucent, 0.18 mm and 170 g/m2, and six of its colour names, but TOP Window Covering forms it into the smallest cell in its honeycomb range: 20 mm, about three quarters of an inch. The small cell makes a fine, close pleat that keeps a shade quiet on a small window, a sidelight or a run of French doors. Six colours: White, Ivory, Light Gray, Mid Gray, Dark Gray and Black. TOP rates the fabric suitable for workstations.
TOP publishes no light figures for the 20 mm version, so the colour is chosen from samples: White and Ivory for a bright hallway or stair, the grays for a quieter room, Black where the light should drop most. The same colour names in Ripasso's larger cell do have published figures, which is one reason to choose that version when the window is large enough for it. The trade-off here is range: six colours, one cell and none of the four extra colours.
What Ripasso Translucent 20 mm does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Small windows, glazed doors, sidelights and French doors, and any window narrow enough that a deeper pleat would look oversized. White or Ivory keeps a hallway or a stair bright; Mid Gray or Dark Gray suits a home office; Black is for a room that should go dim. For anything wider than a door, the larger-cell Ripasso is usually the better fit.
Privacy
By day it hides the room. After dark it glows when lit from inside and shows the shadow of anyone close to it, more in White and Ivory than in Dark Gray or Black, though TOP publishes no figures to rank them. Where a bedroom needs night privacy, use Ripasso Blackout 20 mm in the same colour.
Glare control
As a light-filtering cloth with no openness, it spreads direct sun into an even glow, and TOP rates it for workstations; the darker grays keep that glow lowest behind a monitor. With no figures published, judge the colour against your own window. A low sun square on a glass door still lights the whole shade.
Limitations
No published light figures, six colours, one small cell and no view with the shade down. TOP lists no fire listing for it. On a large window the small pleat can look busy and the range is narrow, so take the larger-cell version there. If the door looks onto the pool and you want to see it, raise the shade or choose a solar screen.

Take it for small windows and glazed doors, where a deeper pleat would look heavy, and when the bedrooms will be in Ripasso Blackout 20 mm. For standard and larger windows, Ripasso Translucent in the larger cell, about an inch, adds four colours and published light figures. Thickness and weight are the same in both.
How wide can a honeycomb shade in TOP Ripasso Translucent 20 mm be?
TOP makes Ripasso Translucent 20 mm in a 300 cm (118 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one honeycomb shade can be made a little under 118 inches wide. Wider openings get two honeycomb shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.
