A woven-look light-filtering cloth on a 300 cm roll, with a blackout to match
Perugia Translucent is a light-filtering roller fabric from TOP Window Covering with a visible weave, which keeps the shade looking like woven cloth when the light comes through it. It is 100% polyester with an acrylic coating, 0.4 mm thick and 180 g/m2, and it comes 300 cm wide (118 inches), so a wide opening can take a single shade. There are eight colours: White, Ivory, Sand, Light Gray, Sage, Brown, Gray and Anthracite. It suits a living room or family room with wide glass, where the shade should look like fabric.
Perugia is a daylight cloth throughout: even Anthracite passes 7.2% of the visible light and White passes 39.7%, so no colour turns a room dim, though the deeper colours take the edge off a bright afternoon. UV transmission runs from 3.1% to 14% on TOP's datasheet, so most UV stops at the shade. TOP does not list the cloth for humid rooms or as fungus-resistant, and rates its light-fastness at 4.5 on DIN ISO 105-B01, a modest figure for a sunny window.
What Perugia Translucent does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Living rooms, family rooms and dens with wide glass, where the shade should look like woven cloth and the room should stay light. White and Ivory for bright rooms, Sand, Light Gray or Sage for most walls, Gray or Brown for afternoon sun. For a bedroom that must go dark, or for a bathroom, choose a different cloth.
Privacy
By day the room is hidden in all eight colours. At night the lit room glows through the shade: the deepest colour still passes 7.2% of the light, so a lamp behind the cloth throws shadows that read from the street. For bedrooms, pair it with the matching blackout on a dual roller.
Glare control
Expect softened light, not shade. The palest colours pass 34.8% to 39.7% of the visible light, so a television facing the window loses contrast in the afternoon; Gray and Brown keep a monitor comfortable, and Anthracite makes the room dim. When a low sun sits square in the window, the whole shade turns into a bright panel.
Limitations
It will not darken a room in any colour, and it is not for bathrooms: TOP lists it neither for humid rooms nor as fungus-resistant. There is no view through it and no fire listing, and the light-fastness rating is modest for strong sun. For dark, take Perugia Blackout White Backing in the same colour.

Every Perugia Translucent colourway, with TOP's published figures
Tv = visible light transmitted, Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed, Tuv = UV transmitted, in percent for the fabric alone, as published on TOP's datasheet; a dash means TOP publishes no figure for that colour. We bring TOP samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.
Where Perugia Translucent works here
Perugia suits a South Florida living room or family room with a wide slider to the patio, where one shade up to 118 inches looks better than two. On west glass we would take Gray or Brown for a calmer afternoon. A shade that wide goes on a Lutron, Somfy or Crestron motor, made in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed by our own team.
Perugia Blackout White Backing is the same eight colours as a blackout with a white back, on the same 300 cm roll, so a bedroom can match the living room and still go dark, with an even white face to the street.
Perugia Translucent: frequently asked
Which Perugia colour suits a west-facing room?
Gray or Brown. At 18.3% and 21% visible transmission they take the afternoon down to a soft light, without the heat load of Anthracite, which absorbs 70.3% of the sun's energy. White and Ivory reflect the most energy, 54% and 51.1%, but pass 39.7% and 34.8% of the light, so the room stays bright and the shade glows.
How wide can a roller shade in TOP Perugia Translucent be?
TOP makes Perugia Translucent in a 300 cm (118 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one roller shade can be made a little under 118 inches wide. Wider openings get two roller shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in Perugia Translucent?
Perugia Translucent is a roller shade fabric. We buy it from TOP Window Covering by the roll and make the shades ourselves in our Fort Lauderdale workroom: cut square, finished with a weighted hem bar and fitted to a Lutron, Somfy or Crestron motor or a manual chain, then installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
Can I see Perugia Translucent samples before ordering?
Yes. Shortlist the colours here and we bring TOP samples of them to the in-home consultation, so you can hold them against your own glass in your own light. Our Fort Lauderdale workroom (4539 Powerline Rd, by appointment) and Miami Beach showroom (500 South Pointe Dr #150) have motorized shades running if you want to see one move.
