A thick jacquard roller cloth in four light colours, for the formal rooms of a house
Pompei is a jacquard light-filtering roller fabric from TOP Window Covering, 100% polyester with a heat-set finish, on a 280 cm roll (110 inches). At 0.51 mm and 265.4 g/m2 it is the thickest of TOP's light-filtering roller cloths, with a figure in the weave that shows when light passes through it. There are four colours, all light: White, Ivory, Cream and Silver. It is a shade for a formal living room, a dining room or a primary bedroom, chosen for how it looks as much as for what it does.
TOP publishes no light or solar figures for Pompei, and its datasheet gives no humid rating or fire listing, so this is a choice made on looks and on a sample at the window. As a light-filtering cloth it hides the room by day and keeps no view, and with four light colours the room stays bright. The decision is mostly tone: Silver reads cool, Cream warm, with White and Ivory between. TOP rates its light-fastness 6 on DIN ISO 105-B02.
What Pompei does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Formal living rooms, dining rooms, primary bedrooms and studies on north, east or shaded glass, where a woven figure adds to the room and the job is soft light rather than control. Cream or Ivory for warm rooms, Silver or White for cool ones. Where figures, fire or humidity ratings matter, look elsewhere.
Privacy
In daylight the room is hidden behind any of the four colours. At night a lit room glows through the cloth and shadows show on it, and with all four colours light, expect them to show clearly. For a bedroom, add a blackout behind it on a dual roller.
Glare control
TOP gives no transmission figures, so this is a judgment from the class and the colours: a light-filtering cloth with no view through it, in four light colours, makes a soft, bright window. That suits reading and a laptop. A television facing the window will have a bright panel behind it all afternoon, and a low sun in line with the glass lights the whole shade.
Limitations
It is a decorative choice with no published performance: no optical figures, no fire listing, no humid rating. It keeps no view and gives no darkness, and with only light colours there is no deep option for a television room. For a room that needs figures to choose by, take Trento Translucent.

Where Pompei works here
In South Florida we would use Pompei in a formal living room, a dining room or a primary bedroom on north or east glass, made up in our Fort Lauderdale workroom on a Lutron, Somfy or Crestron motor or a chain. TOP sells it in 10 m rolls, short for a roller cloth, so on a larger order we plan the cuts so each room's shades come from one roll.
Varese is its nearest sibling: a jacquard of the same weight on the same 280 cm roll, slightly thinner, adding a Gray to these four colour names, and sold in longer rolls.
Pompei: frequently asked
Does a thicker cloth mean a darker room?
Not necessarily. How much light passes depends on the weave and the colour more than on the thickness, and TOP publishes no light figures for Pompei, so judge it from a sample held to your own window. What the thickness does change is the roll: a tall shade in a 0.51 mm cloth needs more room in a pocket or behind a fascia.
How wide can a roller shade in TOP Pompei be?
TOP makes Pompei in a 280 cm (110 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one roller shade can be made a little under 110 inches wide. Wider openings get two roller shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in Pompei?
Pompei is a roller shade fabric. We buy it from TOP Window Covering by the roll and make the shades ourselves in our Fort Lauderdale workroom: cut square, finished with a weighted hem bar and fitted to a Lutron, Somfy or Crestron motor or a manual chain, then installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
Can I see Pompei samples before ordering?
Yes. Shortlist the colours here and we bring TOP samples of them to the in-home consultation, so you can hold them against your own glass in your own light. Our Fort Lauderdale workroom (4539 Powerline Rd, by appointment) and Miami Beach showroom (500 South Pointe Dr #150) have motorized shades running if you want to see one move.
