Crestron Decor shade hardware: the exposed-bracket look for a shade in the open
Crestron Decor shade hardware: every current model, Crestron's specifications and documents, and what the shade costs in Crestron's own budget guide.
What are the Crestron Decor shade hardware?
Crestron's Decor hardware (CSS-DECOR3 for the QMT3 motor, CSS-DECOR5 for the QMT5) mounts the shade on a wall, ceiling or window jamb with the whole roll exposed and a decorative end cap on each side, the contemporary alternative to fascia and pockets.
The brackets are compact, adjustable for levelling without taking the shade down, and finished with end caps in white, black, gray, brown, almond, chrome, brushed nickel or antique bronze on the QMT5 system. The QMT5 Decor comes motorized on the same CSM-QMTDC-250-4 motor as the Architectural hardware or manual with a clutch and Chainhold tension device; the QMT3 Decor carries the CSM-QMTDC-163-1 motor on its single exposed bracket. There is no fascia and no pocket, so the tube, the fabric roll and the end caps are the finish; that suits a loft, an office or a modern kitchen where the shade is meant to read as an object, and it needs a fabric whose back looks as good as its front. The Decor systems take the same fabrics, hembars and motors as the rest of the Crestron line.

What Crestron's own guide says a shade costs
Crestron sells no motor or bracket on its own: the price is the finished shade, and Crestron publishes only a budgetary guide for it. This is that guide, unchanged.
| Shade size | Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | Tier 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 ft wide x 5 ft high | $900 | $1,000 | $1,200 | $1,400 |
| 5 ft wide x 10 ft high | $1,100 | $1,300 | $1,600 | $2,200 |
| 10 ft wide x 10 ft high | $1,400 | $1,600 | $2,000 | $3,200 |
Options in the same guide: fascia $20 per ft; top and back cover $20 per ft; pocket $50 per ft; dual shade (two fabrics, one bracket) double the single-shade figure. The guide names example fabrics per tier: Tier 1: Bella, Mika, Merinda, Nava; Tier 2: E Screen, SheerWeave 2500, 2700 and 7500, Perla, Dilanna; Tier 3: SheerWeave 7000, Rachel, Nohea, Cosima; Tier 4: Flocke, Vizela, Harika; a few have changed tier since, and every fabric page gives the tier the Crestron fabric shop lists today. The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).
Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where the Decor hardware fit
Decor hardware is the choice for an industrial loft in Wynwood or a glass-walled office in Brickell where the ceiling is concrete and the window has no jamb to hide a pocket in. In a residence we usually pair it with a fabric that is dual sided or has a clean reverse, because the back of the roll faces the room. Where the architecture allows a pocket, the Architectural hardware disappears instead; our inside vs outside mount guide walks through the choice.
Crestron Decor shade hardware: frequently asked
Does Decor hardware come in finishes other than white?
The QMT5 Decor end caps come in white, black, gray, brown, almond, chrome, brushed nickel and antique bronze; the brackets themselves are white. We match the cap to the window frames or the room's metal finishes.
Can Decor hardware be recessed?
It is designed to be seen: wall, ceiling or jamb mounted with the roll exposed. A shade that should disappear belongs on the Architectural hardware in a pocket or behind a fascia.
Do you install Crestron shades without a Crestron integrator?
We measure and specify the shades, Crestron builds them to order, our workroom sews the drapery for the track, and we install everything and commission it with the home's integrator, who owns the processor programming. On a project without an integrator we bring one in or propose Lutron or Somfy, which we program ourselves.
