Heritage, Designer and Horizontal Sheer Collections

Every Crestron fabric, arranged by what it has to do

This is the whole Crestron fabric programme as we specify it: 457 colourways in 43 designs, woven by Mermet, Phifer and Coulisse and supplied by Crestron as part of a finished Crestron shade. Each design has its own page with every colourway, its swatch, its openness factor and the figures Crestron publishes for it: solar transmittance, reflectance and absorptance, visible transmittance where the guide gives it, composition, ratings and certifications, roll width, whether the fabric can be railroaded or seamed, the hembar options, the cleaning method and the price tier. We are Crestron certified, we cut Mermet, Phifer and Coulisse weaves in our own Fort Lauderdale workroom for Lutron and Somfy systems as well, and we commission the finished Crestron shades into the home's processor with the client's integrator, from Miami to Palm Beach.

Crestron's fabric shop is arranged by collection and by colour group, which is how a catalogue thinks. We have arranged it the way a window is decided: what the fabric has to do first, then how open the weave is, then the colour. Start with the page that matches the room. Solar screens keep the view and take the glare and heat out of it; light-filtering weaves give daylight and daytime privacy with the view turned to silhouettes; blackouts are for sleep and for screens; horizontal sheers add a tilting vane to a sheer. The Heritage and Designer pages follow Crestron's two fabric books instead, for anyone who already holds one. Then open the design page for the numbers.

What changes when one of these weaves is bought through Crestron rather than cut in our workroom is the shade around it. Fabric, tube, motor and hardware are configured together in the Crestron Design Tool by a dealer, so a Crestron fabric is always quoted as a complete shade, and the fabric decides three things about that shade: the price tier the budget guide reads from, the width the shade can reach in one piece, and which of Crestron's four hembars it can carry. The figures on these pages are Crestron's own, from its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide, revision 3.23.26, printed as published; where Crestron gives no solar figure for a decorative weave, the page says so rather than borrowing one.

Key Facts

Crestron fabrics by the numbers

Three mills, two books and a third shelf

Mermet weaves E Screen, E Screen KOOLBLACK, M Screen, S Screen, Vizela and Flocke; Phifer every SheerWeave here, from 2360 to 8000 and Infinity 2; Coulisse Esprit, Emma, Santos, Grant and the decorative weaves. Heritage holds the mill screens, Designer the decorative book, and Keystone, Vail and Telluride sit outside both as the horizontal sheer fabrics.

Openness from under 1% to 15%

Vizela, SheerWeave 7450 and the light-filtering Coulisse weaves sit at 1% or under. The screens run 1%, 3%, 4%, 5% and 10% across E Screen, M Screen, S Screen, Esprit and the SheerWeave designs, Rachel at 6%, and the open sheers reach 11% on Sena and 15% on Harika. Blackouts are opaque; the horizontal sheers are rated translucent or light-dimming rather than by openness.

Four price tiers

Every colourway carries Crestron's tier, and the budget grid on this page turns it into a shade figure by size. Esprit, Grant, Mika and the light-filtering Bella, Nava, Ella and Desiré sit in Tier 1; E Screen, M Screen and most of the SheerWeave designs in Tier 2; E Screen KOOLBLACK 3%, S Screen, Rachel, Wende, Harika and SheerWeave 7001 in Tier 3; KOOLBLACK 1%, Flocke and the horizontal sheers in Tier 4.

Widths and hembars

Rolls run from 92 inches on Vizela to 124 on most of the Phifer SheerWeave screens, with the Coulisse weaves between 94 and 118. E Screen, M Screen, S Screen, Esprit, Grant, SheerWeave 2701, 2703 and 2705, SheerWeave 7001, 7400 and 7450, Merinda, Ella, Cosima and Flocke take all four Crestron hembars, the Designer Half-Wrap included; the rest take the Open, Sealed or Exposed hembar.

How the Programme Works

Two books, four tiers, one finished shade

Crestron does not sell fabric. It sells a shade configured around the fabric, and everything about how these 43 designs are priced, sized and finished follows from that.

The programme is two sample books and a third, smaller collection. The Heritage Collection is the established mill weaves: Mermet's E Screen, E Screen KOOLBLACK, M Screen and S Screen, Phifer's SheerWeave screens, and Esprit, Emma, Santos and Grant from Coulisse: every design in it is a basketweave screen. These are the vinyl-coated fiberglass and coated polyester screens we have cut for Lutron and Somfy shades for years, most of them with a solar figure published for every colourway. The Designer Collection is the decorative book: the Coulisse polyester sheers, light-filtering weaves and blackouts, several of them paired under one colour name in a daytime and a night version, together with Phifer's SheerWeave 7001, 7400, 7450 and 7500 and Mermet's Vizela and Flocke. Keystone, Vail and Telluride belong to neither; they are the fabrics of the Crestron Horizontal Sheer Shade and are sampled in their own book.

A Crestron shade is specified in the Crestron Design Tool by a dealer: the fabric, the tube, the Digital QMT motor and the Architectural or Decor hardware go in together and come out as one configured shade for one opening. The fabric sets the limits. Its roll width, and whether Crestron allows it to be railroaded or seamed, decide how wide the shade can be in one piece; its weight, with the width and the height, decides whether the QMT3 or the QMT5 motor drives it; and its listing in the Fabric Information Guide decides which hembar it can carry. We run every opening through that tool ourselves, at the measure, so the answer comes back as a shade that fits the pocket rather than a fabric that might.

The hembar is the weighted rail at the bottom of the shade, and Crestron makes four. The Open Pocket tapes the rail inside a welded pocket with its ends painted to coordinate; the Sealed Pocket encloses it fully; the Exposed Blackout hembar is the one for blackout shades and side channels; and the Designer Half-Wrap wraps the rail in the shade's own fabric with no weld line and a flush end cap, on select fabrics up to 120 inches wide. The guide lists each fabric as taking either all four or the Open, Sealed and Exposed three, and the design pages print which. Railroading, where Crestron allows it, turns the fabric 90 degrees so a shade can be wider than the roll; a shade that is then taller than the roll width needs a seam, which we place at a mullion, and Crestron's advice is to railroad every shade in the room once one is railroaded.

Every colourway sits in one of four price tiers, Tier 1 the least and Tier 4 the most, and that tier is the only price signal Crestron publishes for a fabric: there is no fabric price, only a budgetary estimation guide from June 2022 that gives one figure per tier for each of three shade sizes. The grid is printed lower on this page and on every design page with the design's tier named, so a reader can put a Tier 2 E Screen and a Tier 4 KOOLBLACK 1% side by side before a measure. It is a guide, not a quote: it leaves out the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have moved it since. We quote the installed shade at the measure, with the commissioning included.

What It Costs

Four price tiers, one budget guide

Every fabric on this site carries the Crestron tier it sits in, and the grid below is Crestron's own budgetary guide of June 2022 for one motorized shade by tier and size. Read the column that matches your fabric's tier; each design page names it.

Crestron Shades Budgetary Estimation Guide, June 2022: one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, MSRP in US dollars

3 ft wide x 5 ft high$900$1,000$1,200$1,400
5 ft wide x 10 ft high$1,100$1,300$1,600$2,200
10 ft wide x 10 ft high$1,400$1,600$2,000$3,200

Options in the same guide: fascia $20 per ft; top and back cover $20 per ft; pocket $50 per ft; dual shade (two fabrics, one bracket) double the single-shade figure. The guide names example fabrics per tier: Tier 1: Bella, Mika, Merinda, Nava; Tier 2: E Screen, SheerWeave 2500, 2700 and 7500, Perla, Dilanna; Tier 3: SheerWeave 7000, Rachel, Nohea, Cosima; Tier 4: Flocke, Vizela, Harika; a few have changed tier since, and every fabric page gives the tier the Crestron fabric shop lists today. The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).

Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.

Good to Know

Crestron fabrics: frequently asked

Can I buy a Crestron fabric on its own?

No. Crestron sells its fabrics only inside a complete Crestron shade, configured with the tube, motor and hardware in the Crestron Design Tool by a dealer, which is why every page here quotes a shade tier rather than a fabric price. If you want one of these weaves on a Lutron, Somfy or manual roller instead, most of the Heritage screens are the mill's own E Screen, M Screen and SheerWeave, which we cut in our own workroom: see the Mermet and Phifer SheerWeave libraries.

What is the difference between the Heritage and Designer collections?

Heritage is the book of established mill screens: E Screen, E Screen KOOLBLACK, M Screen, S Screen, the Phifer SheerWeave screens, Esprit, Emma, Santos and Grant, most of them vinyl-coated fiberglass with published solar figures. Designer is the decorative book: the Coulisse polyester sheers, light-filtering weaves and blackouts, with SheerWeave 7001, 7400, 7450 and 7500 and Mermet's Vizela and Flocke. Choose Heritage when the exposure leads and Designer when the scheme does; the Heritage and Designer pages go through each.

What does the price tier mean?

Crestron gives every fabric a tier from 1 to 4 and publishes one budgetary guide, dated June 2022, with a figure per tier for a motorized roller shade at three sizes. The tier is the whole of Crestron's public pricing: there is no fabric price and no motor price. The grid on this page shows all four columns; a design page names its tier and points at the matching one. Our quote for the installed shade comes at the measure, with the hardware and the commissioning on it.

Which Crestron fabric gives privacy at night?

A blackout or a light-filtering weave, never a solar screen. Crestron's own design guide says plainly that screen shades give no privacy at night, and with a lamp on the room reads from outside through any of them. A light-filtering weave hides the view but shows silhouettes when lit from behind; a blackout hides everything and leaks only at the edges. Where a screen is right for the day, a dual roller puts the night layer behind it on one bracket.

How wide can a Crestron shade be in one piece?

As wide as the fabric roll, unless Crestron allows the fabric to be railroaded. The Phifer SheerWeave screens roll 124 inches, E Screen and M Screen 120, Esprit, Grant, Rachel and Merinda 118, and the narrowest, Vizela, Flocke, Sena, SheerWeave Infinity 2, Bella and Nava, between 92 and 98. A railroaded fabric turns 90 degrees to go wider, with a seam if the shade is also taller than the roll; where neither is allowed, a wide opening is two shades on one line, programmed to move together.

What is the Designer Half-Wrap hembar?

The bottom rail wrapped in the shade's own fabric, with no weld line and a flush end cap, so the shade reads as one piece of cloth from top to bottom. Crestron offers it on select fabrics up to 120 inches wide, and the Fabric Information Guide lists which: on this site those designs show all four hembars in their facts block, the others show the Open, Sealed and Exposed three. On a blackout in side channels the Exposed Blackout hembar does the job instead.

Which Crestron fabrics are PVC free?

Every fabric in the Designer book: the Coulisse polyester sheers, light-filtering weaves and blackouts, SheerWeave 7001, 7400, 7450 and 7500, Vizela, which is fiberglass with an EVA coating, and the Flocke blackout. From the Heritage book, only SheerWeave Infinity 2, which is 100% TPO, and SheerWeave 8000 in 100% polyester. The vinyl-coated fiberglass screens, E Screen, M Screen, S Screen and the SheerWeave 2360 to 2710 designs, are not; they are the widest rolls in the programme and the ones with solar figures on every colourway.

Our Projects

Crestron fabrics on our installations

Crestron fabrics went into Trump Tower III in Sunny Isles Beach as Crestron Digital QMT roller shades in E Screen 5% White/White, recessed in ceiling pockets throughout the living spaces, with a Crestron motorized drapery track in the primary suite, all commissioned into the residence's existing Control4 system with the home's AV partner. The other Crestron homes we have published run other shade brands inside Crestron control: Lutron Sivoia QS shades at the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Sunny Isles, and Somfy shades tied in through a TaHoma switch at Salato in Pompano Beach. The fabric questions are the same whichever motor is inside: openness from the exposure, colour from the view, and a second layer where the room has to sleep.
