Crestron SheerWeave 2710 Fabric
5 colourways, basketweave, openness 10%, Crestron Tier 2. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
The 10% twill in five Oyster colourways, for shaded glass onlyTier 2
SheerWeave 2710 is the most open weave in Phifer's dual-sided 2700 series, at 10% openness, and Crestron offers it in a reduced form: five colourways rather than the eleven of 2701, 2703 and 2705, on a 96-inch roll rather than 124, and with the Open Pocket, Sealed Pocket and Exposed hembars but not the fabric-wrapped Designer Half-Wrap that the tighter three carry. It keeps the family's construction, a twill finished alike on both faces, so the reverse can face the room on exposed hardware. Crestron railroads and seams it, which the narrow roll makes more likely than on its siblings. Phifer's page for the whole series is SheerWeave 2701, 2703, 2705 and 2710.
The five colourways are all Oyster-based: Oyster, Oyster/Beige, Oyster/Charcoal, Oyster/Chestnut and Oyster/Pewter. None of the five Charcoals of the tighter weaves is made at 10%, and neither is Oyster/Pearl Gray. The figures show what a pale weave at this openness does. Oyster transmits 34% of the solar energy that reaches it and reflects 54%; Oyster/Charcoal, the darkest of the five, still transmits 21% and absorbs only 42%. Visible transmission across the card runs 24% to 32%, the highest of any weave in the 2700 series, which is why the view through it stays crisp and why it belongs on glass the sun never lands on.
Woven by Phifer; the mill's full data is on our Phifer SheerWeave 2700 series page.
What SheerWeave 2710 does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
North glass, and not much else: a courtyard window, a room under a wide overhang, the shaded side of a tower where the brief is the view and the sky's glare rather than the sun. Pale rooms that want to stay pale suit the Oyster card. If the sun ever lands on the pane, choose 2705 or 2703 in the same colour instead; 2710 is the weave for the elevation the sun forgets.
Privacy
Very little by day and none at night. At 10%, with more visible light through it than any other weave in the family, the room reads from outside in daylight through all five colourways, pale Oyster face or not, and after dark with a lamp on the shade is effectively glass. Where the room needs privacy, pair it with a light-filtering or blackout layer on a dual roller, or choose a tighter weave.
Glare control
The least of any weave in the 2700 series. The view stays crisp and the sky loses its edge, but a screen facing the window will show the reflection of a bright day, and a pale Oyster on a monitor is a glow, not a shadow. Acceptable in a corridor or a sitting room, not in an office. For glare the answer is 2703 or 2701; 2710 is chosen for what it does not block.
Limitations
No heat control to speak of: Oyster/Pewter, near the dark end of the card, still passes a quarter of the solar energy that reaches it, and no colourway here stops enough of the sun to matter on sunlit glass. No privacy, no darkening, and a 96-inch roll, so a wider shade is railroaded and a tall one seamed. Only five colours, none of them dark; for a dark weave at this openness see SheerWeave 2360.

Colourways
Every SheerWeave 2710 colourway, with Crestron's published figures
Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed and Tv = visible light transmitted, in percent, as Crestron publishes them in its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide (revision 3.23.26) for each colourway; Ts, Rs and As add up to 100. Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.

The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).
Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where SheerWeave 2710 works here
Ten percent is a narrow brief in South Florida: north-facing glass, a shaded courtyard, a room behind a deep loggia. There 2710 keeps the view almost as it was, takes the hard light off the sky, and its pale Oysters keep a room bright. We never put it on a west or south-west wall; on the water the same colour moves to 2703 or 2705. The 96-inch roll is the other check: a slider wall is railroaded, and a shade taller than 96 inches carries a seam.
SheerWeave 2710 is the open end of the twill family, 10% in five Oyster colourways on a 96-inch roll; 2701, 2703 and 2705 carry all eleven colours, Charcoals included, on 124-inch rolls at 1%, 3% and 5%.
SheerWeave 2710: frequently asked
Why only five colours at 10%?
Because that is how Crestron lists the weave: the 10% version of the 2700 series is offered in Oyster and four Oyster two-tones, and the Charcoals stop at 5%. If the room needs a dark weave this open, the answer inside the Crestron programme is SheerWeave 2360, a plain-face Phifer weave with four Charcoal colourways at 10%, or E Screen, which runs five Charcoals at 10%. Neither is dual sided.
Is a 10% weave worth having in South Florida?
On the right glass, yes. A north elevation, a courtyard window or a room under a wide overhang gets sky glare and no direct sun, and a 3% weave there costs view and daylight for a problem the room does not have. 2710 keeps most of the view and takes the edge off the sky. It is the wrong answer anywhere the sun reaches the glass: there the 3% and 5% members of the family do the work, and a west wall wants 2701.
What does a Crestron shade in SheerWeave 2710 cost?
Crestron places this fabric in price Tier 2. Its budgetary guide of June 2022 lists a motorized 5 Series roller shade in a Tier 2 fabric at $1,000 for 3 ft x 5 ft, $1,300 for 5 ft x 10 ft and $1,600 for 10 ft x 10 ft, MSRP, motor included, before options, control, wiring and installation. Options, the control system, wiring and installation are on top; we quote the finished shade at the measure.
How wide can a Crestron shade in SheerWeave 2710 be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 96 inches for SheerWeave 2710; the fabric can be railroaded, turned 90 degrees on the roll, so one shade can run wider than the roll as long as it is no taller than the roll width, and where it is taller Crestron joins two widths with a horizontal seam, which we line up with a mullion or a transom. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
Is Crestron SheerWeave 2710 the same fabric as the mill's?
Crestron buys SheerWeave 2710 from Phifer and lists it under its own SKUs and price tier. The weave is the one on our Phifer SheerWeave 2700 series page, where the mill's full optical and fire data lives; Crestron's page here shows the colourways and openness Crestron actually stocks for its shades.
