Crestron Nohea Fabric
5 colourways, sheer, openness 3%, Crestron Tier 3. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
The dual-sided 3% sheer in five metal namesTier 3
Nohea is a Coulisse sheer at 3% openness, 100% polyester and PVC free, in the Designer book at Tier 3, on a 110-inch roll. Two things set it apart from Perla, the other 3% sheer in the book: it is dual sided, so either face can be turned to the room and the back of the roll is finished, and its five colourways are all named as metals, White Metal, Silver Metal, Grey Metal, Anthracite Metal and Black Metal. It is a fabric for one window rather than a floor: a Decor hardware shade with the roll on show, or a glass partition seen from both sides.
The card is five colours at one openness, from White Metal to Black Metal, and Crestron publishes no solar figures for it, so the choice among them follows the general rule, the pale names reflect and keep a room bright, the dark ones absorb and keep the view sharp, and is confirmed on the sample at the window. The roll is the narrowest of the 3% weaves in the library, which is why we treat Nohea as a window fabric rather than a slider fabric. The Fabric Information Guide lists it fire retardant, OEKO-TEX certified, PVC free, lead free, mould and bacteria resistant and recyclable.
Woven by Coulisse.
What Nohea does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
A window where the back of the fabric shows: Decor hardware with the roll exposed, a glazed partition, a slider seen from a terrace. At 3% openness it suits east and south glass and a shaded water view, not a west wall. White Metal or Silver Metal in a pale room, Anthracite Metal or Black Metal where the view should read clearest. For a whole floor, a basketweave with published figures is the better tool.
Privacy
Daytime cover as a 3% weave gives it: with sun on the glass the room is hard to read from outside, better hidden behind White Metal and Silver Metal, which reflect more light back, less behind Black Metal and Anthracite Metal, which give the clearer view out. After dark a lit room shows through all five, so a bedroom pairs it with a blackout on a dual roller.
Glare control
A 3% weave takes the sun off a screen, and the dark names do it best: Black Metal and Anthracite Metal absorb the most of what strikes the yarn and keep a television watchable. White Metal keeps the room bright and leaves more glare on a monitor. With no visible transmission figure published, the shortlist is judged at your window; a low sun square in the glass comes through any 3% weave.
Limitations
No darkening, no night privacy, no published solar figures, one openness, and the narrowest roll of the 3% weaves at 110 inches, neither railroaded nor seamed, so a slider is two shades on one bracket. The card is five colours, all metal names, so a scheme that wants a cream or a beige goes to Perla. Its Tier 3 column on the budget grid is a step above Perla for the same work.

Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.

Where Nohea works here
Nohea is a specifier's fabric for a particular window: a Decor hardware shade in a Wynwood loft or an office where the roll is exposed and both faces show, a glazed partition between a study and a hall, a bathroom slider a terrace looks back into. At 3% openness it takes east and south glass and a shaded view; on a west wall we move to a 1% basketweave. Silver Metal and Grey Metal where the room is pale, Anthracite Metal and Black Metal where the view should read clearest.
Nohea is the dual-sided 3% sheer in five metal names at Tier 3, on a 110-inch roll without a seam; Perla is the single-faced 3% sheer in eight colours at Tier 2 that seams, Santos the dual-sided PVC basketweave at the same openness with published figures, and Esprit the four-openness family for the rest of the house.
Nohea: frequently asked
Nohea or Perla for a 3% sheer?
Perla where the shade sits in a pocket or behind a fascia and only one face shows: eight colours, a 116-inch roll that can be seamed, and Tier 2 on the budget grid. Nohea where both faces show, on Decor hardware or in a partition, because it is dual sided; the trade is five colours instead of eight, a 110-inch roll that cannot be seamed, and Tier 3. On the glass the two behave alike: 3% openness, objects seen through the weave, daytime cover and none at night.

How wide can a Crestron shade in Nohea be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 110 inches for Nohea; it is not railroaded, so an opening wider than the roll takes two shades side by side, coupled on one bracket with the light gap set at a mullion. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
