Crestron Dilanna Fabric
6 colourways, blackout, Crestron Tier 2. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
The Coulisse blackout that railroads, with Black, Indigo and Aubergine on the cardTier 2
Dilanna is the second Coulisse blackout in Crestron's Designer Collection: 100% polyester, 110 inches wide, Tier 2, dual sided, and the one Coulisse blackout Crestron will both railroad and seam. That freedom is the reason to specify it. A shade wider than 110 inches runs in one piece with the cloth turned 90 degrees, and a shade that is also taller than 110 inches takes a seam, set on a mullion. As a blackout it passes no light through the cloth, and what matters is the edges and the colour. It is the fabric for the media room that wants a Black blackout rather than a white one, and for the bedroom whose scheme runs to Indigo or Aubergine.
Six colourways, in Crestron's code order: Cloud, Sand, Taupe, Black, Indigo and Aubergine. The hembar choice is the Open Pocket, the Sealed Pocket or the Exposed Blackout bar; the Designer Half-Wrap is not offered on Dilanna, so where a fabric-wrapped bottom rail matters, Cosima is the Coulisse blackout that has it. Dual sided, it hangs on Crestron's Decor hardware with the same face on the roll as on the window, and Coulisse is a mill we cut in our own workroom for other shade systems, so the family is not new to us. Every colourway sits at Tier 2, the same column of the budget grid as Cosima and the Phifer 7500 and 7400.
Woven by Coulisse.
What Dilanna does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Rooms that must go dark behind wide glass: a cinema room off the family room, a primary bedroom in a strong colour scheme, a guest suite whose slider runs past the roll. Because the face is the same on both sides, a Black, Indigo or Aubergine shade also reads dark from the street; where a building rules on what shows at the glass, Cloud, Sand or Taupe is the answer.
Privacy
Total, in every colour and at every hour: a Black Dilanna hides no more than a Cloud one, because nothing passes either. Colour changes what the street sees, not what it can read. The only giveaway after dark is light slipping past the sides and the sill, and it stops once side channels and the Exposed Blackout hembar are fitted.
Glare control
None through the cloth, and in a cinema room the colour matters as well: a Black face beside the screen sends less of the picture's light back into the room than a pale one, so the image keeps its contrast. What it cannot do is soften a bright living room; it offers bright or dark, and daytime glare belongs to a solar screen, with Dilanna behind it on a dual roller.
Limitations
No view and no daylight while it is down, and on sunlit glass a Black, Indigo or Aubergine face absorbs more of the heat it stops than Cloud and warms the window bay. Crestron does not list Dilanna mould and bacteria resistant, so for a pool-house room or an apartment shut through the summer, Cosima is the better Coulisse blackout.

Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed and Tv = visible light transmitted, in percent, as Crestron publishes them in its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide (revision 3.23.26) for each colourway; Ts, Rs and As add up to 100. Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.

The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).
Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where Dilanna works here
Dilanna is the Coulisse blackout we would railroad across a 12-foot slider in a primary suite on the water at Pompano Beach or Hillsboro Mile, one shade on the QMT5 hardware rather than two on a line, with every other shade in the room railroaded to match, as Crestron recommends. In a Coral Gables media room it hangs in Black inside side channels with the Exposed Blackout hembar, and nothing reaches the screen. Behind a solar screen in a bedroom it is the night setting in Cloud or Taupe.
Dilanna is the Coulisse blackout that railroads and seams, with Black, Indigo and Aubergine on its card; Cosima is the fire-listed sibling with all four hembars, and SheerWeave 7001 is the Phifer blackout with the same railroading freedom at 116 inches.
Dilanna: frequently asked
Is Dilanna fire rated?
Not in Crestron's guide. The Fabric Information Guide's fire retardant column is blank for Dilanna, while it marks the cloth Massachusetts compliant, OEKO-TEX certified, PVC free and lead free. For a private house that is rarely a question. For a condo association, a hotel or a commercial job that asks for a listing, we specify Cosima, which carries it at the same width and tier, or one of the Phifer blackouts, all three of which Crestron lists fire retardant.
Does a railroaded Dilanna shade look different from a standard one?
The cloth runs across the window instead of down it, which may or may not show on a blackout depending on the colour and the light, so Crestron's rule, and ours, is that if one shade in a room is railroaded they all are. We show a swatch turned the railroaded way at the consultation, so the direction is decided with the colour rather than discovered on the wall.

How wide can a Crestron shade in Dilanna be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 110 inches for Dilanna; the fabric can be railroaded, turned 90 degrees on the roll, so one shade can run wider than the roll as long as it is no taller than the roll width, and where it is taller Crestron joins two widths with a horizontal seam, which we line up with a mullion or a transom. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
