Crestron SheerWeave 7400 Fabric
8 colourways, blackout, Crestron Tier 2. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
The blackout twin of SheerWeave 7450, colour for colourTier 2
SheerWeave 7400 is Phifer's foam-backed blackout, 100% polyester with an acrylic foamed backing, Tier 2 in Crestron's Designer Collection, 116 inches wide, Tv 0 across the card. Its job in this library is the pairing: its eight colourways carry the same names and the same 74P codes as SheerWeave 7450, the light-filtering weave, so one colour can be specified by day in 7450 and by night in 7400 on a dual roller, or 7400 alone where the room only ever needs dark. The weave itself is on our Phifer SheerWeave 7400/7450R page, where Phifer's own data sits.
The card runs Cotton, Parchment, Sesame, Pebble, Shale, Seagrass, Spice and Flint. Crestron publishes solar figures for Cotton, Ts 0, Rs 64 and As 36: nothing through the cloth and just under two thirds of the sun's energy reflected at the glass. Crestron lists 7400 dual sided, so the colour reads the same from the street as from the bed, and offers all four hembars on it, the Designer Half-Wrap included. It is neither railroaded nor seamed, so a slider wider than 116 inches is two shades on one line; where one piece matters more than the pairing, SheerWeave 7001 is the Phifer blackout that railroads.
Woven by Phifer; the mill's full data is on our Phifer SheerWeave 7400/7450R page.
What SheerWeave 7400 does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
A house where some rooms need daylight with cover and others need dark: SheerWeave 7450 in the bathrooms, the stair and the office, 7400 in the bedrooms and the media room, one colour name through the floor. Where a bedroom faces a neighbour or a street, put both on one bracket and let the hour decide which is down.
Privacy
Complete on its own, and it closes the one gap its partner leaves: 7450 hides a room by day but shows outlines once the lamps are on, so in a street-facing bedroom 7400 comes down with the evening. Nothing reads through the cloth at any hour. What escapes is a line of light at the sides and the sill, which side channels and the Exposed Blackout hembar shut.
Glare control
Nothing passes, and paired with 7450 that gives a bedroom three settings instead of two: open, a lit and private room for reading or dressing, and dark for an afternoon nap or a late start. On its own it is an on or off answer, which suits a media room and frustrates a room used by day. When glare, not darkness, is the problem, the 7450 layer is usually the one to lower.
Limitations
No view and no daylight, and neither half of the pair offers a view with the shade down, so a living room that wants the water by day takes a solar screen in front instead, with 7400 behind on a dual roller. What it stops, it holds at the glass. Where two shades share a wide opening, the joint leaks light unless it lands on a mullion.

Colourways
Every SheerWeave 7400 colourway, with Crestron's published figures
Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed and Tv = visible light transmitted, in percent, as Crestron publishes them in its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide (revision 3.23.26) for each colourway; Ts, Rs and As add up to 100. Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.

Where SheerWeave 7400 works here
In a Crestron bedroom on the Intracoastal in Fort Lauderdale or in a Bal Harbour condo we run 7400 as the night layer of a dual roller with 7450 in front, both in one colour, so the room has a soft daytime setting and a dark one on the same keypad. Alone, it goes in a child's room for the afternoon nap, in a bathroom that faces a neighbour, and in a guest room where daylight through the shade is not wanted. A 9-foot slider runs in one piece; a wider wall splits at the mullion.
SheerWeave 7400 is the Tier 2 blackout built to pair with the SheerWeave 7450 light-filtering weave name for name; SheerWeave 7500 is the twelve-colour dual-sided cloth for a room with no daytime twin, SheerWeave 7001 the Tier 3 blackout that railroads, and Merinda the Coulisse pair that does the same day-and-night job at 118 inches.
SheerWeave 7400: frequently asked
Do 7400 and 7450 match exactly?
In name and code, yes: Cotton is 74P01 in both, Flint is 74P08, with an LF suffix on the light-filtering weave and 00 on the blackout. In hand, no, because they are two constructions, an acrylic-coated weave and a foam-backed blackout, and the light-filtering cloth glows when the sun is behind it while the blackout stays flat. That is why we show both swatches against the same glass, at the hour the room is used, before the pair is ordered.
Which Phifer blackout for a bedroom that runs 7450 by day?
7400, for the colour match, unless the opening is wider than 116 inches. On a dual roller the light-filtering shade is what the room sees by day and the blackout is what closes at night, and with the same name on both cards the two read as one specification rather than a near miss. Past 116 inches the choice is two 7400 shades on one line, aligned at a mullion, or one railroaded SheerWeave 7001 in the nearest colour, which we show side by side.
What does a Crestron shade in SheerWeave 7400 cost?
Crestron places this fabric in price Tier 2. Its budgetary guide of June 2022 lists a motorized 5 Series roller shade in a Tier 2 fabric at $1,000 for 3 ft x 5 ft, $1,300 for 5 ft x 10 ft and $1,600 for 10 ft x 10 ft, MSRP, motor included, before options, control, wiring and installation. Options, the control system, wiring and installation are on top; we quote the finished shade at the measure.
How wide can a Crestron shade in SheerWeave 7400 be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 116 inches for SheerWeave 7400; it is not railroaded, so an opening wider than the roll takes two shades side by side, coupled on one bracket with the light gap set at a mullion. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
Is Crestron SheerWeave 7400 the same fabric as the mill's?
Crestron buys SheerWeave 7400 from Phifer and lists it under its own SKUs and price tier. The weave is the one on our Phifer SheerWeave 7400/7450R page, where the mill's full optical and fire data lives; Crestron's page here shows the colourways and openness Crestron actually stocks for its shades.
