Crestron Desiré Fabric
4 colourways, light filtering, openness <1%, Crestron Tier 1. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
Four light-filtering colours, and no shade wider than the rollTier 1
Desiré is the shortest light-filtering card in this library: four Coulisse colours, all 100% polyester at an openness factor under 1%, and all in Tier 1, the first column of Crestron's budget grid on this page. It does the light-filtering job and nothing past it: daylight comes through the cloth diffused, the street sees a plain surface by day, and a lit room shows its silhouettes after dark. What it lacks is as useful to know. There is no blackout under the same names, no fire listing in Crestron's guide, and no Designer Half-Wrap, so the bottom rail is a pocket or the Exposed bar.
The four are Grain, Bark, Charcoal and Mist, in Crestron's code order, and they share one roll width, one tier and one set of hembars, so nothing but colour separates them. Width is the constraint. Desiré is neither railroaded nor seamed, so no shade in it can be wider than its 110-inch roll; a slider beyond that takes two shades that meet at a mullion, or a different fabric. For a bedroom that has to go dark, a blackout from another card goes on the other tube of a dual roller, and the Desiré side still sets the width of the pair.

What Desiré does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Rooms that want daylight and cover in a scheme built around Grain, Bark, Charcoal or Mist: a study, a powder room, a guest bedroom on a side elevation, a laundry. Where the guest room must also sleep dark, pair it with a blackout. Width decides the rest: two Desiré shades can meet at a mullion, but a wide slider with no mullion belongs in Ella, which Crestron seams.
Privacy
In daylight Desiré shows the street nothing of the room, in any of its four colours. With the lamps on after dark it glows like a lampshade, and people and furniture show on it as silhouettes, so a bedroom or bath facing a neighbour wants a blackout for the night; Dilanna is the one we pair with it.
Glare control
Direct sun reaches the room through Desiré as diffused light, with no hard beam across the floor, and the shade becomes the brightest thing in view. That is pleasant in a study and a problem wherever a television or a monitor faces the window; there a blackout does what a light-filtering cloth cannot. No light figures are published for Desiré, so we compare the four colours on the glass.
Limitations
It gives no view out and does not darken a room. Crestron's guide does not list Desiré as fire retardant or as mould and bacteria resistant, so it stays off an association's fire schedule and out of a shower room; Ella carries both lines at the same width and tier. Fold marks can show until the cloth has hung.
Desiré colourways

Colourways
Every Desiré colourway, with Crestron's published figures
Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed and Tv = visible light transmitted, in percent, as Crestron publishes them in its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide (revision 3.23.26) for each colourway; Ts, Rs and As add up to 100. Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.

Options in the same guide: fascia $20 per ft; top and back cover $20 per ft; pocket $50 per ft; dual shade (two fabrics, one bracket) double the single-shade figure. The guide names example fabrics per tier: Tier 1: Bella, Mika, Merinda, Nava; Tier 2: E Screen, SheerWeave 2500, 2700 and 7500, Perla, Dilanna; Tier 3: SheerWeave 7000, Rachel, Nohea, Cosima; Tier 4: Flocke, Vizela, Harika; a few have changed tier since, and every fabric page gives the tier the Crestron fabric shop lists today. The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).
Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where Desiré works here
We specify Desiré for rooms that want daylight and cover and nothing more, on windows no wider than the roll: the study and powder room of a Delray Beach townhouse, a guest bedroom facing the side yard of a Weston house, a laundry. Where that guest room must also sleep dark, Dilanna joins it on a dual bracket. On a west side elevation the cloth takes the afternoon sun full on; Charcoal quiets the glow there but holds more heat at the glass.
Desiré is the four-colour Coulisse light-filtering card, held to its 110-inch roll; Ella matches its width and tier with eight colours, a fire listing, a seam past the roll and every hembar, and the paired cards, Bella, Mika, Nava and Merinda, each add a same-name blackout.
Desiré: frequently asked
Why choose Desiré over Bella, Mika or Nava?
Colour first, and width against two of them. The light-filtering Bella, Mika and Nava sit in the same Tier 1 and come with a blackout under each colour name, which Desiré does not, so a matched bedroom pair is easier in them. Desiré covers 110 inches in one piece where Nava stops at 98 and Bella passes 98 only by railroading. Where one of its four colours is the one the scheme needs and the window fits the roll, Desiré is the answer.
Which blackout pairs with Desiré when a bedroom has to be dark?
Dilanna, in most rooms. Crestron's guide gives that Coulisse blackout exactly the ratings and the three hembars it gives Desiré, on the same 110-inch roll, so the pair reads as one fabric schedule, and it is dual sided, so the street sees the colour the room sees. Cosima is the other Coulisse option and even carries a Mist, but a shared name is not a promised match: we set the swatches side by side on the glass before ordering.
What does a Crestron shade in Desiré cost?
Crestron places this fabric in price Tier 1. Its budgetary guide of June 2022 lists a motorized 5 Series roller shade in a Tier 1 fabric at $900 for 3 ft x 5 ft, $1,100 for 5 ft x 10 ft and $1,400 for 10 ft x 10 ft, MSRP, motor included, before options, control, wiring and installation. Options, the control system, wiring and installation are on top; we quote the finished shade at the measure.
How wide can a Crestron shade in Desiré be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 110 inches for Desiré; it is not railroaded, so an opening wider than the roll takes two shades side by side, coupled on one bracket with the light gap set at a mullion. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
