Crestron Bella Fabric
22 colourways, blackout / light filtering, openness <1%, Crestron Tier 1/2. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
A light-filtering weave and its blackout twin, colour for colourTier 1Tier 2
Bella is the Coulisse fabric we reach for when a home wants one colour on every window and two different jobs from it. Each of its eleven colours is woven twice: a light-filtering cloth with an openness factor under 1%, which passes a soft daylight and hides the view in both directions, and a blackout with the same name, which passes nothing. Both are 100% polyester on a 98-inch roll, and Crestron allows both to be railroaded and seamed, which is how a slider wider than the roll gets covered in this fabric. The light-filtering rows sit in Tier 1 and the blackout rows in Tier 2 of the budget grid on this page.
The card runs Snow White, Blanc, Vanilla, Limestone, Twill, Peach, Moth, Gray, Metal, Blue Night and Black, and every name appears in both weaves. That is the point of the pairing. A bedroom can carry the light-filtering Bella in front on a dual roller with the blackout Bella behind it, and the two read as one fabric whether the room is set for the morning or for sleep; a living room down the hall takes the light-filtering cloth alone, and the colour stays constant through the home. Neither weave is dual sided, so the reverse is a different face from the front, and it is the face the street sees; we show both faces at the consultation.
Woven by Coulisse.
What Bella does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Decide by what each room does after dark. A bedroom takes both weaves in one colour on a dual roller, light-filtering for the day and blackout for sleep. A study, or a living room that faces a street, takes the light-filtering Bella alone. A media room takes the blackout alone, in side channels, and Black is on the card for it. A living room on the water takes neither.
Privacy
By day the light-filtering Bella hides the room entirely: from the street it reads as cloth, not a window. After dark the light swaps sides, and a lamp in the room throws the shapes of people and furniture onto the shade, which a study can live with and a ground-floor bedroom cannot. The blackout shows nothing at any hour, only a line of light at each edge unless channels close it.
Glare control
Neither weave lets the sun through as a beam. The light-filtering Bella spreads it into an even, bright panel, pleasant over a reading chair and hard on a television facing the glass, and a Snow White shade glows brighter than a Black one. With no light figures published for Bella, we compare colours on your glass. For a screen wall the blackout is the answer, and the daylight goes with the glare.
Limitations
Neither weave gives a view out, and the light-filtering one does not darken: alone in a bedroom it lets the morning in. Railroading has a rule: when any shade in a room is railroaded, Crestron advises railroading every shade in it. A new blackout can show pinholes or fold lines until it has hung. For the view wall, a solar screen is the fabric.

Colourways
Every Bella colourway, with Crestron's published figures
Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed and Tv = visible light transmitted, in percent, as Crestron publishes them in its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide (revision 3.23.26) for each colourway; Ts, Rs and As add up to 100. Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.
What a Crestron shade in Bella costs

Options in the same guide: fascia $20 per ft; top and back cover $20 per ft; pocket $50 per ft; dual shade (two fabrics, one bracket) double the single-shade figure. The guide names example fabrics per tier: Tier 1: Bella, Mika, Merinda, Nava; Tier 2: E Screen, SheerWeave 2500, 2700 and 7500, Perla, Dilanna; Tier 3: SheerWeave 7000, Rachel, Nohea, Cosima; Tier 4: Flocke, Vizela, Harika; a few have changed tier since, and every fabric page gives the tier the Crestron fabric shop lists today. The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).
Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where Bella works here
We specify Bella where the glass faces a neighbour or a street, not the water: a Fort Lauderdale bedroom or bath, a Boca Raton guest suite, a condo bedroom facing the next tower. The light-filtering weave hangs alone where daylight and cover are enough; bedrooms add the blackout on a dual bracket. A 10 ft slider we railroad, as Crestron allows on both weaves, with any seam on a mullion. We cut Coulisse for other systems in our own workroom, so we know the cloth.
Bella is the widest of the four paired Coulisse cards at eleven colours and the only one Crestron will railroad; Mika is wider on the roll at 116 inches with both weaves in Tier 1, Nava is the seven-colour card at the same 98 inches, and Merinda is the 118-inch pair with the Half-Wrap hembar.
Bella: frequently asked
Do I need both Bella weaves in a bedroom?
Only if the room has to be dark. The light-filtering Bella gives full daytime privacy and a soft light, but a lamp behind it at night shows a silhouette and the morning comes straight through. The blackout Bella in the same colour, on the same dual roller bracket or as a second shade, closes the room for sleep and stays out of sight by day. In a guest room used a few weeks a year, one blackout shade on its own is the simpler answer.
Which Bella hembar should I choose?
Bella comes with the Open Pocket, the Sealed Pocket or the Exposed Blackout hembar, not the Designer Half-Wrap. For the light-filtering shade we usually specify the Sealed Pocket, which encloses the bar in the fabric. For the blackout, the Exposed hembar is the one that works with Crestron's side channels and sill angle, and that combination is what keeps light from leaking around the edges of a bedroom shade.
Will the blackout Bella match the light-filtering Bella exactly?
They share a name and a card, but a woven light-filtering cloth and a coated blackout are two constructions, so we never promise an identical surface. Held side by side in daylight the pair reads as one colour, and in a dual roller the blackout sits behind the light-filtering layer and only shows when it is down. We bring both swatches so the match is judged on your own glass, at the hour the room is used.
What does a Crestron shade in Bella cost?
Crestron places this fabric in price Tier 1. Its budgetary guide of June 2022 lists a motorized 5 Series roller shade in a Tier 1 fabric at $900 for 3 ft x 5 ft, $1,100 for 5 ft x 10 ft and $1,400 for 10 ft x 10 ft, MSRP, motor included, before options, control, wiring and installation. Options, the control system, wiring and installation are on top; we quote the finished shade at the measure.
How wide can a Crestron shade in Bella be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 98 inches for Bella; the fabric can be railroaded, turned 90 degrees on the roll, so one shade can run wider than the roll as long as it is no taller than the roll width, and where it is taller Crestron joins two widths with a horizontal seam, which we line up with a mullion or a transom. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
