Crestron SheerWeave 2703 Fabric
11 colourways, basketweave, openness 3%, Crestron Tier 2. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
The dual-sided 3% twill for the ocean side, with a wrapped hembarTier 2
SheerWeave 2703 is the 3% weave of the Phifer 2700 family, the dual-sided twill, and it is the one of the four that lands on the ocean front: 3% is the openness that holds a bright day on the water without losing the horizon, and a cloth with no wrong side suits the tall slider walls where the shade is seen from the terrace as much as from the room. Crestron lists it at 36% fiberglass and 64% vinyl, 124 inches wide across the eleven colourways, Tier 2 in the Heritage Collection, with a visible transmittance of 5% to 19%. Our Phifer SheerWeave 2700 series page carries the mill's full data for 2701, 2703, 2705 and 2710.
The card splits into a Charcoal half and an Oyster half. Plain Charcoal transmits 7% of the solar energy and absorbs 89% at the glass, the clearest view on the page; Charcoal/Gray transmits 5% and reflects 13%, and Charcoal/Slate at 27% reflected is the charcoal that gives the most back. On the other side plain Oyster transmits 22% and reflects 62%, and the five Oyster mixes step down from there towards the charcoal figures. Every colourway takes the four Crestron hembars, including the Designer Half-Wrap wrapped in the shade's own fabric, which on a dual-sided cloth shows the same weave from the street and from the sofa.
Woven by Phifer; the mill's full data is on our Phifer SheerWeave 2700 series page.
What SheerWeave 2703 does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Ocean-front and south-facing living rooms where the shade is seen from both sides, and any shade on exposed Decor hardware at 3%. A slider wall read from the terrace, a glass wall between a family room and a lanai, a dining room whose shades sit half down. Charcoal/Taupe or Charcoal/Brown when the view leads, Oyster/Pewter when the room is pale. West glass with a screen goes to 2701; a shaded north wall to 2705.
Privacy
Daytime only. The Oyster half of the card hides the room from the street better than the Charcoal half, a pale face reflects daylight and a dark one lets the eye through, though at 3% a passer-by sees little through either. From a terrace against the glass, more. After dark, with the lights on, nothing: the twill is transparent from outside whichever face is out. A bedroom takes a second layer on a dual roller.
Glare control
At the dark end of the card the room goes soft and a television stays watchable; at the Oyster end the view stays crisp and some glare stays on a screen. Charcoal/Brown and Charcoal/Taupe at 6% of solar energy transmitted are the picks where glare is the complaint; Oyster/Pewter at 8% and Oyster/Pearl Gray at 9% the Oyster colourways that behave best. A low sun in line with the window comes through any of them.
Limitations
It darkens nothing and hides nothing at night, and on a hard west wall 3% lets in more afternoon than a client with a screen will like; that glass goes to 2701. Charcoal/Taupe holds 70% of the solar energy at the window and plain Charcoal more, so a dark 2703 warms on south glass. Beyond the roll width the shade railroads, with a seam above that height. For a projector or sleep, a blackout behind.

Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed and Tv = visible light transmitted, in percent, as Crestron publishes them in its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide (revision 3.23.26) for each colourway; Ts, Rs and As add up to 100. Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.

Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where SheerWeave 2703 works here
On the ocean side of Sunny Isles Beach, Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale beach, where a living room's slider wall is the view from the terrace as well, 2703 is the 3% weave we suggest when the back of the shade must look finished and the bar wrapped rather than painted. In a white room we go to Oyster/Charcoal or Oyster/Pewter for the glare, in a darker scheme to Charcoal/Gray. A wall wider than 124 inches is railroaded, and every shade in the room with it.
SheerWeave 2703 is the 3% weave of the dual-sided twills, between 2701 at 1% and 2705 at 5%, with 2710 the 10% end in five Oyster colourways; SheerWeave 2410 is the plain basketweave at the same 3% on the wider Phifer card.
SheerWeave 2703: frequently asked
SheerWeave 2703 or 2705: 3% or 5%?
3% on the glass that takes direct sun for part of the day, 5% where the light is filtered and the view is the whole point. Both are the same dual-sided twill, 124 inches, Tier 2, on the same eleven colourways; SheerWeave 2705 publishes a visible transmittance of 7% to 21% against 5% to 19% here, and its Oyster/Beige transmits 23% of the solar energy where the 2703 version transmits 15%. On the ocean front we start at 2703 and open to 2705 only under a terrace.
Why choose 2703 over 2410 when both are 3%?
For the cloth's two faces and the hembar. 2703 shows the same weave on both sides, so an exposed roll on Decor hardware or a shade in an interior glass wall looks finished from behind, and it takes all four Crestron hembars, the Designer Half-Wrap included. SheerWeave 2410 is the plain basketweave on the Open Pocket, Sealed Pocket and Exposed Blackout hembars, with Beige, Brilliant/White and Pearl Gray in its card. Where neither the back nor the bar will be seen, the card decides it.
Which 2703 colourway cuts glare without a dark shade?
Oyster/Charcoal or Oyster/Chestnut. Both transmit 7% of the solar energy, the same figure as plain Charcoal, while reflecting 40% and 42% of it, so the room keeps an Oyster shade and the afternoon comes down almost as far as it would behind a charcoal. Plain Oyster, at 22% transmitted, is the colourway for a shaded elevation rather than a glare problem. We bring both mixes and the plain Oyster to the window at the hour that bothers the client.
What does a Crestron shade in SheerWeave 2703 cost?
Crestron places this fabric in price Tier 2. Its budgetary guide of June 2022 lists a motorized 5 Series roller shade in a Tier 2 fabric at $1,000 for 3 ft x 5 ft, $1,300 for 5 ft x 10 ft and $1,600 for 10 ft x 10 ft, MSRP, motor included, before options, control, wiring and installation. Options, the control system, wiring and installation are on top; we quote the finished shade at the measure.
How wide can a Crestron shade in SheerWeave 2703 be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 124 inches for SheerWeave 2703; the fabric can be railroaded, turned 90 degrees on the roll, so one shade can run wider than the roll as long as it is no taller than the roll width, and where it is taller Crestron joins two widths with a horizontal seam, which we line up with a mullion or a transom. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
Is Crestron SheerWeave 2703 the same fabric as the mill's?
Crestron buys SheerWeave 2703 from Phifer and lists it under its own SKUs and price tier. The weave is the one on our Phifer SheerWeave 2700 series page, where the mill's full optical and fire data lives; Crestron's page here shows the colourways and openness Crestron actually stocks for its shades.
