Crestron SheerWeave 2705 Fabric
11 colourways, basketweave, openness 5%, Crestron Tier 2. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
The dual-sided twill at 5%, with the same face on both sidesTier 2
SheerWeave 2705 is the 5% openness member of Phifer's 2700 series, the twill that Crestron files under basketweave and lists as dual sided: both faces of the cloth are finished alike, so the side facing the glass reads the same as the side facing the room, unlike the plain-face SheerWeave 2390 at the same openness. It comes on a 124-inch roll, Crestron railroads and seams it, and with 2701 and 2703 it is one of three Phifer screens in the programme offered with all four hembars, the Designer Half-Wrap included, which wraps the bottom rail in the shade's own fabric with no weld line. The mill's own page is Phifer SheerWeave 2701, 2703, 2705 and 2710.
The card is eleven colourways in two families. Five are Charcoal-based: Charcoal on its own, then Charcoal/Brown, Charcoal/Gray, Charcoal/Slate and Charcoal/Taupe. Six are Oyster-based: Oyster, Oyster/Beige, Oyster/Charcoal, Oyster/Chestnut, Oyster/Pearl Gray and Oyster/Pewter. The two halves behave differently on the glass. Plain Charcoal transmits 7% of the solar energy that reaches it and absorbs 89%; Oyster transmits 22% and reflects 62%. Oyster/Charcoal and Oyster/Chestnut sit in the middle, 12% transmitted, 40% to 43% reflected and 45% to 48% absorbed. The same eleven names run through SheerWeave 2701 at 1% and SheerWeave 2703 at 3%, so a house can hold one colour and change only the weave from elevation to elevation.
Woven by Phifer; the mill's full data is on our Phifer SheerWeave 2700 series page.
What SheerWeave 2705 does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Rooms where the sun arrives filtered: a living room under a deep terrace, an east-facing breakfast room, a north slider wall, a study behind a loggia. Where the tube and the back of the roll show, on exposed hardware or on a shade seen from the terrace, the two matched faces earn the choice over a plain screen. West and south-west glass is 2703 or 2701 territory, in the same colour.
Privacy
Daytime, and it depends on the colour. The Oysters throw daylight back at the street and cover the room reasonably well until dusk; the Charcoals can be seen through from both sides, which is what makes them the clearest to look out of. After dark, with a lamp on, the room shows through every colourway, and a dual-sided weave changes nothing about that. Night privacy is a second layer behind it on a dual roller.
Glare control
At 5%, with a visible transmission that tops out around a fifth, this is a glare-softening weave, not a glare-killing one. The Charcoals take the sting out of a bright sky and keep a screen readable while the sun is off the glass; the Oysters leave a pale glow on a monitor in the afternoon. If glare is the complaint, the fix is a tighter weave, 2703 or 2701, before it is a darker colour.
Limitations
It darkens nothing and hides nothing after dark, and 5% is as open as we take a weave anywhere the sun lands on the glass. The Charcoals absorb most of what they stop and warm at the window, where an Oyster sends more of it back out. Beyond 124 inches a shade is railroaded, and a railroaded shade taller than 124 inches carries a seam. For sleep, a blackout shade on the second bracket.

Every SheerWeave 2705 colourway, with Crestron's published figures
Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed and Tv = visible light transmitted, in percent, as Crestron publishes them in its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide (revision 3.23.26) for each colourway; Ts, Rs and As add up to 100. Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.

The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).
Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where SheerWeave 2705 works here
On our coast 5% is the weave for a view room the sun reaches second-hand: a living room under a deep terrace in Fort Lauderdale, an east or north slider wall in Miami Beach. We specify the Charcoals where the water is the point and the Oysters where the scheme is pale, and keep all eleven off hard west glass, which wants 2703 or 2701. Because both faces match, it is also our choice for Decor hardware, where the back of the roll faces the room.
SheerWeave 2705 is the 5% member of the dual-sided twill family: 2701 and 2703 carry the same eleven colours at 1% and 3% on the same 124-inch roll, and 2710 is the open end, 10% in five Oyster colourways on a 96-inch roll.
SheerWeave 2705: frequently asked
What does dual sided mean on a roller shade?
Both faces of the cloth are finished the same, so there is no wrong side. A single-faced weave has a front and a back; 2705 has two fronts. It matters in three places: on Decor hardware, where the tube is exposed and the back of the roll shows in the room; on the Designer Half-Wrap hembar, which is wrapped in the fabric itself; and from outside, where a terrace or a neighbour sees the reverse of every shade on the wall.
Charcoal or Oyster for a room facing the water?
Charcoal, if the view is the reason for the shade: it passes the least solar energy of the card and gives the clearest read of the water, at the cost of holding heat at the glass, since it absorbs most of what it stops. Oyster reflects more than half of the solar energy back out and keeps the room brighter, but the pale yarn hazes the view. Oyster/Charcoal and Oyster/Pewter are the two we show most: lighter in the room than a Charcoal, clearer than a plain Oyster.
Which hembar goes on a 2705 shade?
The Designer Half-Wrap where the bottom of the shade is in view: it is wrapped in the 2705 cloth itself, with no weld line and a flush end cap, and Crestron offers it up to 120 inches wide, which covers most shades cut from this roll. In a ceiling pocket, where only the edge of the hembar ever shows, the Open Pocket with its painted ends is the quieter choice. The Exposed hembar is for blackouts running in side channels, and we do not put it on a screen.
What does a Crestron shade in SheerWeave 2705 cost?
Crestron places this fabric in price Tier 2. Its budgetary guide of June 2022 lists a motorized 5 Series roller shade in a Tier 2 fabric at $1,000 for 3 ft x 5 ft, $1,300 for 5 ft x 10 ft and $1,600 for 10 ft x 10 ft, MSRP, motor included, before options, control, wiring and installation. Options, the control system, wiring and installation are on top; we quote the finished shade at the measure.
How wide can a Crestron shade in SheerWeave 2705 be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 124 inches for SheerWeave 2705; the fabric can be railroaded, turned 90 degrees on the roll, so one shade can run wider than the roll as long as it is no taller than the roll width, and where it is taller Crestron joins two widths with a horizontal seam, which we line up with a mullion or a transom. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
Is Crestron SheerWeave 2705 the same fabric as the mill's?
Crestron buys SheerWeave 2705 from Phifer and lists it under its own SKUs and price tier. The weave is the one on our Phifer SheerWeave 2700 series page, where the mill's full optical and fire data lives; Crestron's page here shows the colourways and openness Crestron actually stocks for its shades.
