Crestron Sena Fabric
8 colourways, sheer, openness 11%, Crestron Tier 2. Every swatch and every figure Crestron publishes, from the Crestron-certified team in Fort Lauderdale that specifies and installs Crestron shades from Miami to Palm Beach.
An 11% sheer for shaded glass and the viewTier 2
Sena is a Coulisse sheer at 11% openness, 100% polyester and PVC free, in the Designer book at Tier 2. It is the most open weave on a Crestron roller shade apart from the Harika sheer, and that is its whole character: more of the view and more of the sky than any 10% basketweave, and less of everything a solar screen is usually asked to do. It is a fabric for glass that the sun does not reach directly, where the shade exists to soften the light and take the edge off a bright day rather than to fight it.
The card is eight colours at the one openness: Optical White, White, Cream, Beige, Stone, Gray, Dark Gray and Slate. Crestron publishes no solar figures for Sena, so the choice between them is made at the window with the sample rather than from a table: the pale colourways keep the room bright and reflect heat, the dark ones give the clearer view out and take more of the glare. Its roll is the narrowest of the openness weaves in this library, which is why we treat it as a window fabric rather than a slider fabric.
Woven by Coulisse.
What Sena does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Shaded glass where the view is the point: a north-facing living room, a bay window under a deep overhang, the panel beside a slider on the Intracoastal side of a house whose west wall runs a tighter weave. White or Optical White in a white room, Slate or Dark Gray where the view should read sharpest. Keep it off west and south-west glass and out of rooms with screens.
Privacy
Among the least of any fabric on a Crestron roller: at 11% openness the weave is open enough that the room reads from the street in daylight, more so behind Slate and Dark Gray than behind White, and after dark with a lamp on it hides nothing. Treat Sena as a view fabric that softens light, not a privacy layer, and give the room its privacy from a second shade on a dual roller.
Glare control
Not a glare fabric. Eleven percent of the face is open, so the direct beam through the holes alone is more than an Ebony or Charcoal 1% weave passes in total, and Crestron publishes no visible transmission figure for Sena. Slate or Dark Gray absorbs more of what strikes the yarn and softens a bright day; nothing on the card makes a west-facing television watchable. For that, choose a 1% or 3% basketweave.
Limitations
Everything a solar screen is normally asked for is limited here: little glare control, no night privacy, no darkening, no heat figures to quote. The roll is 94 inches and the fabric neither railroads nor seams, so 94 inches is the widest a single Sena shade can be and a slider is two shades on one bracket. Where the room needs a screen that works, start from the solar screen page.
Sena colourways
8 colours. Openness 11%; up to 94 in wide; Crestron Tier 2; fire retardant; woven by Coulisse.

Colourways
Every Sena colourway, with Crestron's published figures
Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed and Tv = visible light transmitted, in percent, as Crestron publishes them in its fabric shop and its Fabric Information Guide (revision 3.23.26) for each colourway; Ts, Rs and As add up to 100. Openness is Crestron's figure; width is the usable roll width. We bring samples of the colours you shortlist to the consultation.
What a Crestron shade in Sena costs

Options in the same guide: fascia $20 per ft; top and back cover $20 per ft; pocket $50 per ft; dual shade (two fabrics, one bracket) double the single-shade figure. The guide names example fabrics per tier: Tier 1: Bella, Mika, Merinda, Nava; Tier 2: E Screen, SheerWeave 2500, 2700 and 7500, Perla, Dilanna; Tier 3: SheerWeave 7000, Rachel, Nohea, Cosima; Tier 4: Flocke, Vizela, Harika; a few have changed tier since, and every fabric page gives the tier the Crestron fabric shop lists today. The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).
Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where Sena works here
We specify Sena where the openness guidance on this site allows the most open weaves: north glass, a deeply shaded east terrace, a room under a wide overhang where the sun never lands on the pane, and never a west wall. It is the sheer for a Miami Beach living room that looks at the bay through a screen and wants the screen to disappear, in White or Optical White on a white interior, in Slate or Dark Gray where the view should read clearest.
Sena is the most open weave in the Crestron library after the Harika sheer, eight colours on a 94-inch roll that neither railroads nor seams; the 10% basketweaves, E Screen, Esprit, SheerWeave 2360 and 2710, are the tighter alternatives with published solar figures and wider rolls, and Rachel is the next sheer down the ladder at 6%.
Sena: frequently asked
Does an 11% sheer do anything for heat and glare?
Less than a screen and more than bare glass. At 11% openness, 89% of the face is yarn and 11% is open, so the direct beam through the holes is small, but what the yarn passes and reflects depends on the colour, and Crestron publishes no solar or visible transmission figures for Sena, so we claim none. Treat it as a view fabric for shaded glass; where a room has a heat or a glare problem we move down the ladder to a 3% or a 1% weave.
Can Sena be the day layer of a dual shade?
Yes, and that is how it earns a place in a bedroom. Crestron's QMT5 hardware has dual brackets, so Sena hangs in front as the day layer, open to the view, with a blackout such as Bella or Mika behind it for the night on the same bracket. Sena's roll limit applies to that layer only; on a slider wider than the roll both layers split into two shades on one line, programmed to move together.
What does a Crestron shade in Sena cost?
Crestron places this fabric in price Tier 2. Its budgetary guide of June 2022 lists a motorized 5 Series roller shade in a Tier 2 fabric at $1,000 for 3 ft x 5 ft, $1,300 for 5 ft x 10 ft and $1,600 for 10 ft x 10 ft, MSRP, motor included, before options, control, wiring and installation. Options, the control system, wiring and installation are on top; we quote the finished shade at the measure.
How wide can a Crestron shade in Sena be?
Crestron lists a usable roll width of 94 inches for Sena; it is not railroaded, so an opening wider than the roll takes two shades side by side, coupled on one bracket with the light gap set at a mullion. We confirm the limit for the chosen hardware when we measure.
