Crestron drapery track system: the motorized track for sheers and draperies
Crestron drapery track system: every current model, Crestron's specifications and documents, and what the shade costs in Crestron's own budget guide.
What is the Crestron drapery track system?
The Crestron drapery track (CSS-DRAPERY) is a ceiling, wall or pocket-mounted track driven by the CSM-QMTDC-DRP-3 Digital QMT drapery motor: straight tracks to 240 inches carrying up to 145 lb of drapery, or 480 inches and 290 lb in tandem, with left, right, centre, asymmetric and multiple draws for pinch pleat, Ripplefold and Accordia-fold headings.
The motor is a 1.62 Nm, 10 to 50 rpm drive on 24 V DC (42.5 W, 1.77 A) with a 15 minutes on, 15 off duty cycle, made in a Cresnet version (CSM-QMTDC-DRP-3-CN) and an infiNET EX wireless version (-EX), and powered from the same CSA-PWS40 or CSA-PWS10S-HUB supplies as the roller motors. Crestron's Touch Motion feature starts the track when you gently pull the edge of the fabric, and the track can be drawn by hand if power is lost. Tracks longer than 192 inches ship in sections and are spliced on site, two splices at most; ceiling mounting uses cam-lock brackets or screws, wall mounting an adjustable L bracket, and a pocket hides the whole assembly. The CSA-DRAPE-TEMPLATE kit lays out custom track shapes on site. The fabric, the heading and the hems are made in our own workroom: see motorized curtain tracks and custom draperies.

What Crestron's own guide says a shade costs
Crestron sells no motor or bracket on its own: the price is the finished shade, and Crestron publishes only a budgetary guide for it. This is that guide, unchanged.
| Shade size | Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | Tier 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 ft wide x 5 ft high | $900 | $1,000 | $1,200 | $1,400 |
| 5 ft wide x 10 ft high | $1,100 | $1,300 | $1,600 | $2,200 |
| 10 ft wide x 10 ft high | $1,400 | $1,600 | $2,000 | $3,200 |
Options in the same guide: fascia $20 per ft; top and back cover $20 per ft; pocket $50 per ft; dual shade (two fabrics, one bracket) double the single-shade figure. The guide names example fabrics per tier: Tier 1: Bella, Mika, Merinda, Nava; Tier 2: E Screen, SheerWeave 2500, 2700 and 7500, Perla, Dilanna; Tier 3: SheerWeave 7000, Rachel, Nohea, Cosima; Tier 4: Flocke, Vizela, Harika; a few have changed tier since, and every fabric page gives the tier the Crestron fabric shop lists today. The guide excludes control processors, keypads, interfaces, wiring, power supplies, programming and installation. Source (PDF).
Figures are Crestron's own budgetary MSRP guide of June 2022 for one motorized 5 Series roller shade, motor included, before options. They exclude the control system, wiring, power, programming and installation, and Crestron may have changed them since. We quote every project at the measure.
Where the drapery track system fits
A Crestron track carries the sheers across a primary-suite window wall in a home that already runs Crestron scenes, so the sheer opens with the morning lights. On Trump Tower III the primary suite's white Fabricut sheer runs wall to wall on a pocketed Crestron track, on the same Control4 keypads as the rollers. Most South Florida sheers we hang are ripplefold on a recessed track, 100% or 120% fullness, and the 240 inch straight limit covers all but the longest walls; those go tandem. For homes that are not on Crestron, the Somfy Glydea and Irismo tracks and the Lutron drapery track are the alternatives.
Crestron drapery track system: frequently asked
How long can a Crestron drapery track be?
Crestron lists a maximum straight track of 240 inches (6,096 mm) carrying 145 lb of drapery, and 480 inches with 290 lb in a tandem configuration. Tracks beyond 192 inches ship spliced, reassembled on site with splice bars, two splices at most.
Can I move the drapery by hand?
Yes, two ways. Touch Motion starts the motor when you pull gently on the fabric edge, and if power is lost the track releases so the drapery can be drawn manually.
Which headings work on the Crestron track?
Pinch pleat, Ripplefold and Accordia-fold; the carriers snap to the fabric in a pattern made for each heading. Our workroom sews the sheer or drapery to the track's carrier spacing so the fullness is right on the first hang.
How much does a Crestron shade with the drapery track system cost?
Crestron publishes no prices for its motors or hardware; the motor ships inside a complete shade. Its budgetary guide of June 2022 lists one motorized 5 Series roller shade at $900 to $3,200 MSRP depending on size and fabric tier, before options, control, wiring and installation. We quote every project at the measure, with the fabric, the hardware and the commissioning on one number.
Do you install Crestron shades without a Crestron integrator?
We measure and specify the shades, Crestron builds them to order, our workroom sews the drapery for the track, and we install everything and commission it with the home's integrator, who owns the processor programming. On a project without an integrator we bring one in or propose Lutron or Somfy, which we program ourselves.
