Phifer SheerWeave Infinity2 Fabric

A TPO screen with no vinyl, in nine warm neutrals
SheerWeave Infinity2 is woven entirely from thermoplastic olefin: 100% TPO, made up of a 20% TPO fiber yarn with an 80% TPO coating on that yarn. It comes at 1%, 3% and 5% openness in 63 and 98 inch widths, at 12.82 to 13.9 oz per square yard and about 0.030 to 0.032 inches thick, with UV blockage of 99%, 97% and 95%. Phifer lists GREENGUARD Gold, RoHS and REACH, acoustic values up to NRC 0.20, and fire listings under NFPA 701 TM#1, NFPA 101 Class A, IBC Section 803.1.1 Class A and CAN/ULC-S 109, with BS 5867 Part 2 Type B on the more open weaves.
Nine colours run warmer than the technical screens usually do: Cotton, Almond, Wheat, Stone, Barley, Nickel, Slate, Bark and Midnight. Visible transmission runs 2% in Midnight to 22% across the card and solar reflectance 6% to 70%, with Cotton the most reflective of the nine colours and Midnight the most absorptive at 6%. Unlike most SheerWeave styles, Infinity2 carries no Microban additive; Phifer lists the ASTM E 2180 and ASTM G21 test methods instead. The trade for the vinyl-free construction is width: 98 inches is the limit.

Tv = visible light transmitted, Ts = solar energy transmitted, Rs = solar energy reflected, As = solar energy absorbed, in percent, as published by Phifer for the fabric on its own. SHGC single = solar heat gain coefficient of the fabric behind single 1/4 in clear glass (1/8 in where that is what Phifer publishes), SHGC insul. = behind 1 in insulating glass with a high-performance coating (1/2 in clear where published). Exterior SunTex and SunScreen figures are for the fabric installed outside the glass at a 30 degree profile angle. We bring the sample books to the consultation.

Infinity2 is the no-vinyl screen we show when the client also wants the fabric to look like a textile rather than a technical mesh. Almond, Wheat and Barley sit naturally with pale oak and limestone, which is most of what we walk into in Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and the newer Fort Lauderdale builds. The 98-inch width means a wide slider becomes two shades, so we settle the window schedule before we settle the fabric.
One of three vinyl-free solar screens: 8000 is lighter and wider with a Cradle to Cradle listing, RE-USE adds recycled content, and Infinity2 has the warmest colour card.

Is Infinity2 PVC-free?
Its published composition is 100% TPO, so there is no vinyl in it. Phifer reserves the explicit PVC-Free label for Style 7001. Infinity2 sits alongside SheerWeave 8000 and RE-USE on our PVC-free and recycled page.
Why is it narrower than the other screens?
Phifer weaves it 63 and 98 inches. That is the practical limit on a single shade, so on a wide opening we make two shades on one headrail and align the joint with a mullion. If a single wide shade is the requirement, RE-USE at 118 inches is the closest vinyl-free alternative.
How wide can a Phifer SheerWeave Infinity2 shade be?
Phifer publishes standard roll widths of 63" and 98" (160 cm and 248.9 cm) for SheerWeave Infinity2, so a single shade can run to about 98 inches wide before a seam or a second shade is needed. Wider openings are covered with two shades on one headrail programmed to move together, or with a seam placed where the mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in SheerWeave Infinity2?
SheerWeave Infinity2 is made up as roller shades, roman shades and panel tracks. We source it directly from Phifer, so the same weave goes on Lutron, Somfy, Crestron or Vertilux motors or a manual chain, cut and finished in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
Is SheerWeave Infinity2 PVC-free?
Phifer's published composition for SheerWeave Infinity2 is 100% TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin), 20% TPO Fiber Yarn/80% TPO Coating on TPO Yarn: no vinyl and no PVC in the yarn or the coating, with GREENGUARD Gold, RoHS, REACH, ANSI/WCMA A100.1 lead content listed.
