TOP C-Screen Linen 5% Fabric
6 colourways, solar screen, 5% openness, 300 cm roll, fire listed. TOP Window Covering fabric, made into roller shades in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed from Miami to Palm Beach.
A 5% fire-listed screen with 16% linen, for shaded rooms and softer interiors
C-Screen Linen 5% is the one screen in TOP Window Covering's flame-retardant range with a natural fibre in it: 18% polyester, 66% PVC and 16% linen, at 5% openness. It is 0.55 mm thick and 375 g/m2, on a 300 cm roll, about 118 inches. The six colours are all neutrals: White, Natural, Beige, Taupe, Gray and Black. It suits a hotel room, a restaurant or a living room where a screen with real linen in it sits better with the furnishings than an all-synthetic weave.
At 5% this is one of the brighter screens in the range. Visible transmission runs from 9.4% in Black to 24.6% in White, and UV transmission from 8% to 9.8%, so it softens a room rather than shading it hard. White reflects 58.2% of the sun's energy and Natural 49.3%; Black reflects 11.8% and gives the clearest view. The trade-off is plain: this is a fabric for filtered sun, north light and covered terraces, not for unshaded west glass.
What C-Screen Linen 5% does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Shaded and north glass, rooms under a balcony, restaurant windows on a covered terrace, and hotel rooms where a softer screen suits the scheme. Natural or Beige for warm interiors, White where the room needs the most daylight and the least heat, Gray or Black for a clearer view out. Choose it when the sun arrives filtered; on hard west glass, choose a tighter screen.
Privacy
By day it gives modest privacy, less than a tighter weave, because 5% openness lets more of the room read from outside, most of all in Black and Gray. After dark with lights on it hides nothing. Bedrooms and guest rooms need a blackout layer behind it, which we build as a dual roller.
Glare control
It softens glare rather than removing it. With nothing on the card below 9.4% visible transmission, a monitor or a television facing the window will struggle on a bright afternoon. Under an overhang or on north glass that is rarely a problem. A low sun in line with the window shows through any screen, and at 5% it shows clearly.
Limitations
It is not a glare fabric for west or south-west glass, it does not darken, and it gives no night privacy. UV transmission of 8% to 9.8% means art and rugs near the glass get less protection than behind a tighter weave. It contains PVC as well as linen. For a hard exposure, see Essence Screen at its tighter openness factors.

Where C-Screen Linen 5% works here
We would put it in a hotel room or a restaurant where the glass sits under a balcony or a deep overhang, or in a north-facing living room in Coral Gables or Boca Raton. The datasheet lists NFPA 701, California Title 19, CAN/ULC-S109, EN 13773, DIN 4102 B1 and BS 5867 Part 2. TOP rates it suitable for humid environments, with an antimicrobial finish and fungal resistance listed.
D-Screen 5% is the same openness and roll width without the linen, a heavier polyester and PVC cloth in five colours with Classe 1 (Italy) added to its fire listings.
C-Screen Linen 5%: frequently asked
Does the linen make it harder to keep clean?
TOP gives the same care instruction as for its all-synthetic screens, a damp cloth, and lists an antimicrobial finish tested to ASTM E2149 and fungal resistance to ASTM G21-15. The linen is 16% of the cloth, with polyester and PVC making up the rest. As with any fabric shade, wipe marks early and gently rather than scrubbing them.
How wide can a roller shade in TOP C-Screen Linen 5% be?
TOP makes C-Screen Linen 5% in a 300 cm (118 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one roller shade can be made a little under 118 inches wide. Wider openings get two roller shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in C-Screen Linen 5%?
C-Screen Linen 5% is a roller shade fabric. We buy it from TOP Window Covering by the roll and make the shades ourselves in our Fort Lauderdale workroom: cut square, finished with a weighted hem bar and fitted to a Lutron, Somfy or Crestron motor or a manual chain, then installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
Is C-Screen Linen 5% flame retardant?
TOP's datasheet for C-Screen Linen 5% lists NFPA 701, California Title 19, CAN/ULC-S109, EN 13773, DIN 4102 B1, BS 5867 Part 2. For a hotel, a condo common area or an office, ask us for the datasheet with your quote: the building's reviewer or the fire marshal will want the listing in writing.
